    Hi Guys,

I have just registered yesterday. I have Ad-Aware, PestPatrol, Norton Antivirus2003, Zone Alarm Pro, Spybot Search and Destroy and now SpyWareBlaster.

Just a few moments ago I went into Google looking for the Lyrics for Aerosmiths Dream On. A box flashed up in the middle of the webpage saying:- "Congratulations you have won a prize please click here to see what you have won."

I fell for something similar in the past and nearly booked a holiday lol.

I want to protect my PC from such things so how do I do it. The last thing I want is for my kids to hook up on something bad if they click yes in error. I have warned them but a mistake is easy to make.

Thanx guys. NB Is this sort of pop-up or advert classed as Spam or is that something else altogether?

Hello Cyborg and welcome to Wilders Security Forums

You may wish to consider adding SpywareGuard as well. It is from the same author as SpywareBlaster and it is a good addition to all your current tools.

    Best wishes

Those little "congratulatory" messages dance their way into your view all over the web. Just yesterday, I couldn't believe that i was the 1,000,000,00th visitor at 5 websites!!! What a coincidence>.......lucky me!!!!!
.....they are akin to spam, yes.
