You would need to check the email sent to you when you bought NOD32.

If you dont have it, contact the reseller from whom you made the purchase.

well, i was able to log into my account at ESET, and coincidentially my machine came up last night with an "expires in 7 days" flag, so my instincts were good.
Do I need to find that email to successfully renew?

I dont believe so. When you renew you will be a given a new username/password to use.

No, but you'll need your current username AV-xxxx to renew.

I'm not sure if you need to use the original email that you had associated with the account. I don't think so, but I usually do.

if you renew directly with eset, they'll change your license expiration WHEN YOU ASK - if you renew early. If you renew with a reseller, they'll get it right first time! ;)

If your reseller is running with the ball, he'll send you a renewal reminder a couple of weeks before expiry. (You can renew early without losing any license time.) You'll think the reseller is a great guy for looking after you, and you'll keep shopping with him.

If your reseller is sitting on the bench and doesn't remind you, a popup will send you to ESET's online renewal page ... but it won't give you a lot of time to renew the license before the program quits updating. The reseller will lose his renewal commission, and he'll probably lose you as a customer forever.

Eset's online store doesn't give you the option to put in your old license details to get it all aligned the first time (yet) - but many resellers do - coz we specialise in websites I guess - they specialize in AV -which is why you want their product... ;)

well, your price matches theirs - but if I bought the original from eset, do I have to buy the renewal from them too?

Smart resellers specialize in looking after their customers. Letting a customer know his antivirus license is about to expire or his laptop's warranty is just about up or whatever adds your personal touch to the original sale. That little bit of extra effort shows him that you value his business, and it keeps him coming back to you instead of shopping at the impersonal mega computer supermarket up the road. :)

absolutely we contact our customers prior to renewal time - but obviously there are thousands of purchasers who don't buy from us! To date, only 12,000 or so have purchased from us... ;)
