Or by the time you guys read this it should be out, maybe if it's in the afternoon or early morning. Anyway this would be be 3rd time trying it out as I tried alpha2, beta1 and now this, beta3. I hope they made strides in this one because I think after this in mid oct. the final should be released, to tell you the truth I wouldn't mind a beta4 just to finalize the kinks and bugs! Well, I hope all of you enjoy toying with beta 3 and remember to report any bugs and such in the Comodo forums.:D

mmm... where is the link ? On their forums I see nothing. Defense+ can be disabled I guess. Beta 2 had this feature.

I went to the Comodo forum last night hoping to find out how it was going, It was good news to hear that beta 3 is go to be released. Now about the Final release date, I believe the post that I read said at the end of October and thats fine by me, just as long as it is as close to perfect as possible. I'm looking to foward to this.

I think I read a post about them making Defense + an option that could be decided upon before downloading/installing.
I hope that's what they have done.

Automatic update is currently disabled and will give you an error message (must be updating from the beta). Automatic update should be working sometime soon though....

I started was using Comodo 2.x until this late spring. I chose to uninstall it for two reasons:

    1. Everytime a new app updated itself (i.e. FireFox), it would prompt me with an alert. This really got annoying after a while.

    2. I was having problems with Trillian Pro where my connection settings to all my chat rooms kept getting eradicated. Only recently I found out the culprit was Comodo Anti-Virus of which I uninstalled. I posted this on the forum and they are still looking into it.

So I am curious to know if for item #1 if the new beta has address this problem? I've been thinking of jumping over to Blink for a change of pace.

    Thanks

The reason Comodo firewall warns you on an updated application is due the change in that applications cryptographic signature.
Changing an applications signature is also something malware can do so Comodo takes no chances and gives you the information for you to allow or deny.

So another week to wait for a new version of the firewall now? o_O They know how to confuse people with releases and such not. :D

Man, Comodo made me look like a jackass, they were supposed to release it when I had posted this but I'm guessing they came across a major bug and decided to fix it before releasing it, oh well more wait for mostly all of us.:(

    I agree with "Nubiatech"

It is far better for a vendor to delay a new beta_build release, than to make a release that could cause (known) problems for the end user.

Wonder if comodo has done anything to make its latest beta work when p2p. Seemed such a good firewall but needed serious work in relation with p2p.

Since the beta has now been released....we'll close this thread and start a new slate.

The Wilders discussion of this new beta can now be found in the below thread.
