    Hi Pretender,
    Yes, XP restore will back your version of NOD32, only if you make manually a backup before the upgrade.

    Sounds like the changes to IMON that sir_carew posted in another thread are having an impact on network activity in XP.

    Looks like AMON may be having an impact as well?

    I'm holding off on the component updates until this is sorted out. Good thing I have component updates set to prompt and not auto download and install. I would not be a happy camper with some of the issues mentioned here.

    Mine was a little slow downloading but after the download my quirky WinME is working fine.

    Randy

    Could be some bad downloads with all of the update traffic.

    Hey marti,

    I restarted IMON clicked the "Repair Now" button in
    "Network Configuration Changes" then rebooted after it did that.

    All is fine now on my WinXP Pro with IMON running. Web surfing is fine now with IE and OE is back to running normal.

    Thanks for reporting that, Stan. You may have helped many folks that are still banging their heads against the wall ( :D).

    Well, I'll have to take back what I posted. Mine started acting up again with IMON enabled so I had to shut down IMON again.

    I noticed as long as you keep an Internet app like IE loaded with a window open or minimized then opening another URL works fine.

    However, if you close IE then open IE again it takes a while to load a website.

    Running on XP Pro and no sluggish after the update. My money is on IMON buggered... i´ve never had it activated and never any problems with sluggishness..

    But i think an Eset official should comment this. Some of us are running Nod32 on more than 50 machines.. and depend on things to work..!

    Hi all,

    Running Me and Xp, both are running sluggish after the update, the startpage of IE takes forever to load and if i try opening Kerio Firewall, well, i can take a break for a few minutes.

    Running XP home with all patches. System is sluggish. latest update has also killed 'tonic' (LAN messenger) giving winsock.dll out of range errors.

    Running three machines--two with XP Pro, one with XP Home using the latest build of NOD. Two of the machines are stock Dells and one is home-built. All three are sluggish with regards to internet connectivity and email (Outlook XP) after 2.000.8 update.

    regards,

    Hi,

    Just like to add my voice to the crowd. Running Win98SE and system is noticeably sluggish when running IMON. Disable IMON and all is well again.

    I have a client running Win ME and system is very unstable after updating to latest version and experiences problems accessing the net.
    Pls remove update from server until problems are resolved.

    Regards

    Buster

    snowbound,

    Be assured the techs from Eset are aware of the fact, certain users do encounter problems. This isn't a moderator issue.

    Since many do report all is working just fine, it's fair to assume this isn't a general issue - and therefore it's not that evident at first hand to determine a culprit.

    In a complicated situation like this (works perfect for many, others encounter problems), most probably the Lab is working overtime. I'm convinved as soon as a culprit has been found, Eset will act accordingly.

    regards.

    sorry paul :(

    I just didn't see a response in the forums from eset yet.
    I thought they may have posted something acknowledging the problem to the people who are having problems.

    Maybe i missed it :doubt:

    Patience isn't my best virtue ;)

    My mistake

    snowbound,

    No need to apologize ;)

    As long as a problem isn't determined, there's actually not that much to say, other then: "we have noticed users encountering problems, we will try to reproduce these in our labs".

    regards.

    Martin vDijk said regarding sluggishness after update:
    I have experienced the same thing on a Win98 machine (I haven't loaded NOD32 on my XP box). I use Kerio and the Firewall Status screen takes 10 seconds to load after the update; before it was instantaneous.

    As far as this being strictly related to IMON running or not, I'm not so sure.

    As one example, I tested the Kerio Status Screen issue with:

    IMON on....10 seconds to load screen;

    IMON off....10 seconds to load screen;

    AMON on...10 seconds to load screen;

    AMON off...10 seconds to load screen;

    Both off.....10 seconds to load screen;

    NOD32 before update...1 second or less to load screen

    NOD32 uninstalled...1 second or less to load screen

    I tried the Repair Connection option to no avail. Also, the update screwed up my news server's ability to connect to external servers or to localhost (see here...that problem did appear to be related to IMON):

    Thanks for reading.

    Patience is definitely not one of my virtues either but I’ve had an IMON problem ever since version 2 of NOD was released many months ago, but it seemed that there were a lot fewer of us being affected. With this latest update it seems it went from bad to much worst, many more of you are being affected for the first time with something that I’ve had to live with since whenever. :doubt:

    Acadia,

    I'm with you. I think you were one of the people who had Kernel32 crash problems as I did. I reinstalled NOD32 to check whether the update fixed any of the old problems, and it seems that many problems remain and more were introduced with the latest update, but the Kernel32 issue for me has finally gone away. At least I have not had a Kernel32 error since reinstalling NOD and applying the update, even with IMON running.

    I still can't live with NOD32 on a daily basis as it is now, but the crash has ceased. I probably shouldn't say this, but the crash repair was probably just a side effect of whatever else was changed this go 'round.

    It appears from your post that you still have the Kernel32 problem...yes or no?

    I don't know, I haven't used IMON for many months. I don't know about this latest update because after about 10-12 attempts to download it, I gave up, especially when I then starting reading about all the problems people were having. I think I'll just wait.

    Kudos to you Jan !

    Today's update (I just downloaded/installed it) seems indeed to have fixed completely the "sluggish"-issue.

    Running W 98 SE Dutch, Amon and Imon enabled.
    So far running fine !!!

    PS: later I will run for myself NISFileCheck to see what files were changed/added/deleted; earlier today I ran it to look for those changes after the initial PCU.

    Cheers, Jan.
