I have used TClockEx for a long time. My IT insists that I not use it any longer. The only reason he gives is that it "hooks the kernel in an unsafe way." o_O

So I need a substitute clock for my system tray -- one that shows time, date, day of the week.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I used to use TClockEx also, but then went to NTPTime, and was fully satisfied with it. Worked well for me. Here is a link:

Edit: Sorry folks and Bellgamin, I am a little brain dead this morning and posted this thinking you were looking for a good time sync program.. which is not the case at all. My apologies.. It IS good for time sync though... :)

i love that program, it makes the clock look much better, then when you click the tray clock the calendar appears and that has an alarm, countdown timer too, it's really easy to use and there are some great skins too. i'm sure it hooks the kernel too though lol

LClock here also. Plus it uses very little RAM.

Since the original problem was that Bellgamin's IT thought TClockex hooking was unsafe the resolution might be to have him look at the lighter version LClock if you like it that is...and give either a thumbs up or down. At least that way your getting the IT involved...sometimes it's just that they like to be the approving factor. Anyway good luck Bellgamin.

    Yes!

Don't forget to also download the mini-color skins. I've transitioned ALL my snapshots nearly to this mini-size/multi-color type and it is so Kool! :thumb:

I'll keep searching the net for more creative skins. One of these dayz i like to spend some time designing a few of thoze to share.

Only drawback is if explorer ever crashes, it takes DigitalTimepiece with it. I miss that clock anytime that happens, which isn't often.
