    Hello,

Thanks for the link. A free burner that is light (2MB), and Vista compatible from their forum. Something to try, thanks.

    Regards,
    gkweb.

I wanted to use it but one of the fileforum reviewers said this adds over 500 registry entries and that deterred me, maybe the new version doesn't.

Installed the new one here and it's great, no issues so far.. This has been a favorite of mine for years, never had any troubles with it at all, and always served me well. Glad to see the new version now...

Note: now requires .NET 2 or 3 though, where version 3 didn't...

now, you can burn iso, save in iso format and copy discs...

anything you need in one package :)

ISO was also available in previous versions, but it didn't work properly according my tests.
The creation and burning was OK, but the cloned CD didn't always act like the original one.
It might be improved in this version.

    I can't use CDBurnerXP v4.0 anymore.
It burns and verifies the movie OK, but when I insert the DVD in my TV-video-recorder, it tries to play the movie, but than it returns back to TV without playing the movie.
After making one expensive Verbatim DVD+R useless, I tried to burn two different movies on DVD+RW and I couldn't play any on my TV-video-recorder.

I uninstalled CDBurnerXP v4.0 and re-installed CDBurnerXP v3.0 and tried again and everything was back to normal.
This is a major step back in my new installed off-line snapshot and an extreme disturbing element in my routine video production cyclus.

I even have to find another alternative to replace CDBurnerXP v3.0, because there is no next release and no improvement possible anymore.

Besides that, the new GUI of CDBurnerXP v4.0 is also a step back and that makes it even worse. I'm very disappointed.

I installed it here and tried it a few times but had problems burning even a simple data CD. It came up with some weird error near the beginning of the burn and trashed the disks... tried several times under different conditions. It did work fine once, but seemed to randomly error out. So I had to remove it and return to v3 which was always trustworthy for me. I suspect they have some bugs to iron out in the new v4, so I will wait a while for a new release and try again.

Well CDBurnerXP is a general burning app (data, music, video) whereas ImgBurn is more image-oriented.

Hmm..sorry, don't quite get it o_O . As imgburn can burn data (music, video) etc...also, the new cdburnerxp can also burn and create image (iso etc) now too isnt it?

I ditch Nero after i feel vista movie maker can satisy my needs of creating dvds, so for normal burning/images etc, so now, i guess imgburn and cdburnerxp is pretty good :D

Sorry I just saw your post now.. I don't know which build it was, probably not the most recent, I think it was the one first released. I will give it another try soon and see if it's better... thanks...
