Users can now see for themselves how much better the Premium Servers are compared to the Classic ones.

If you are taking about the splash screen, you can't.

Is there a way to tell it to not make any sound when it discover a suspicious file? I have the sound card to mute at work but Avira is using the pc internal speaker :doubt:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "avgnt"="C:\Program Files\AntiVir PersonalEdition Premium\avgnt.exe\" /min /nosplash

Look in the configuration under 'further action" and disable acoustic alert if it will let you.

If you're running Microsoft Windows you can disable the Internal speaker or PC speaker by following the below steps.

    1. Open Device Manager
    2. In Device Manager click View and click "Show hidden devices"
    3. This should make "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" visible in Device Manager.
    4. Expand Non-Plug and Play Drivers by clicking the plus and double-click Beep.
    5. Within the "Beep properties" window click the Driver tab.
    6. Under the driver tab if you wish to temporarily disable this device click the Stop button. If you wish to permanently disable this device under the Startup Type select Disabled.

Does anyone know how easy or difficult it is to go back to the basic/free version after 6 months?

Uninstall/reinstall would be my best guess. :D

I guess I deserved this ;) - the reason I asked is that some programs don't uninstall that nicely and some don't want you to downgrade?

Also, wondered why the email I received contained 4 temp files instead of a keyfile called license file hbedv.key. o_O

    Thanks for the heads up.

Great to have Avira as an alternate AV :thumb:

    temp files?
    there are four files inside e-mail: HBEDV.KEY (1KB); LIC_INFO.TXT (1KB); support.txt (2KB); hbedv.zip (1KB). Check them.

    Great find. :)
It's nice to see they are still wanting people to buy just the AV (versus the suite). :)

The servers are moderately faster than their free version but still not blazingly fast, probably due to the reason that Anti Vir gets bigger updates in general.
