Not to mention you get a nice discount when you purchase a 2 or 3 year subscription. :)

Seems is right. Their web site hides that it well. But you can always "contact them for your digital opportunity"

But why go through all the trouble of stepping through the "partner" web site when you can order easily from the avira site.

I'm not talking about the Avira site. I'm referring to the contronex site. I don't have Flash Player and I encounter sites that require it but I've never seen one before that won't even explain that Flash Player is required to use the site. I can't use my ISP's site because stupid idiots that they are they went entirely behind Flash (violating the ADA act), but they at least tell me that Flash is required. On other sites that use Flash, I get a browser warning. But this contronex site produces an immediate download box for Shockwave Flash Player I guess. I have Shockwave Player so I assume this is a very hostile way to force Flash Player on someone. Really makes one want to buy Avira from the USA supplier.

Now I would think if you emailed Avira or their partner and asked for their address to send them a money order seeing how you can not be bothered with flash or even wanted to pay over the telephone w/ a credit card I would bet they would email you alternate payment information.

Edit* Added a space between card & I

As has already been suggested in this thread USA citizens, and anyone else, can purchase it at the Avira store online. You can see the price in Euros or Dollars...I don't recall if any other currency. However, many times one can get a better price, or extra tech support, if you buy from the USA distributor. That is true for Kaspersky (or was when I had KAV) - I got a cheaper price and USA tech support as well as Kaspersky's support if I bought from ICE instead from Kaspersky website. The same was true when I had NOD32.

So, seems reasonable to me that one would like to see if the USA distributor for Avira has a better price or extra USA support, etc before one buys at Avira's online store. Same goes for if Avira was in stores as you might happen on a store sale which would be a much better price than the Avira website price. I might call the USA distributor if I had any idea what their phone number is and if it is a toll free number but since I can't access the site....as for Flash Player, it is partly that I cannot set the privacy settings for it but mostly because I cannot choose the font size is why I can't use it.

I have found contacting a company directly and requesting alternate purchasing instructions works well. They want to sell their product and I want to buy it. Money Orders are pretty much accepted world wide and the only problem I tend to run into with hard to find software from stores is it is outdated and occasionally you have to jump through hoops after you purchase it to get an update. Does not happen often but it has happened.

I would still call them and inquire as who else would have the best answer to your question anyway?

As for not being able to set Flash Security that would another thread.

    Contronex phone & address

http://www.contronex.com/ They have a "Contact us -- ..." on that (application/x-shockwave-flash Object) website
where you type your message and Email and click "submit". It loads on my Firefox w/ "scripts forbidden" just fine:D

No Toll-Free, but voice would be (239) 649-7836 or Fax at (239) 649-7384 w/ "office hours: 8am to 6pm EST".

[Also "Intl: (239) 649-7197" time zone is GMT -5 hours or for ALOHA zone 3AM - 1PM (4AM-2PM during DST period).]

Just down the coast from here and I have a 1999 Naples Florida telephone book and they were listed with same number back then:

    Contronex Inc.
    660 Ninth Street North
    Naples, FL 34102

Ninth Street North (postal) would be better known as US-41 or the Tamiami Trail, if you were driving.

Thanks for all the information on Contronex. :) If they don't have an 800 number, it is likely they have no special deals for Avira either. They might though in a year or so as Avira is not quite yet getting into exposure in the USA but they will be.

Tamiami Trail.....I haven't been on that since I lived in Daytona Beach before coming to Hawaii....many, many years ago. ;)

    Ahh...an email address! Cool! Thanks.

I wouldn't know Daytona Beach now...it was a very long time ago...Disneyworld wasn't even there in Orlando. Disney was in the area though and encouraged me and others to apply to live in "glass" houses in their proposed City of Tomorrow. :D

Yeah, I parked my Mustang on the beach most days...not too good for it! But such a wide beach ....gorgeous and so long...what... about 20 plus miles?

Most of the overseas av do better in the av over here in the USA. Avira, AVK, and Kaspersky. I have not heard much about AVK but always hear good things about Avira and Kaspersky. I am testing Kaspersky right now and like it a lot except for a few things. I am going to try out Avira to. Kaspersky is easy to get in the USA but Avira and from looking around so is AVK. I would like to see both Avira and AVK open up to the USA market more. I tried Avira a long time ago but a lot has changed since then but if I choose Avira over Kaspersky sure would like to see more involvement from Avira when it comes to the USA.

As for Avira in the USA, I think it is just a matter of time before we see better representation here.

    True.

The anomaly is that it is cheaper to buy the suite's family 2 year license (47.98 p.a.) than the 3 year (49.98 p.a.).
