FSIS 2008

bitdefender is my 'backup av' only because its 2 user. (bought it for the pc)

it would be crazy for me to buy another licence as i aint gonna stop using my drweb

, unless its free?

 

I understand, but I guess you know that FSIS is for 3 users now. That would give you an excuse to buy another computer, unless you could get one free.

I used to see this in the Beta, but in the shipping version its superfast.

 

They really haven't changed the GUI much in a while. This ('03) is the earliest shot I could find.

 

No, I haven't found a single update to the GUI from the 2007 version (apart from the splash screen now saying 2008 ), but it does seem to run nicely in my new laptop.

 

I have installed it just for the heck of it.It does start up faster so they must have changed something.

The put off for me is the firewall

 

What's wrong with it? It hasn't bothered me much, in fact I can't remember the last time I had to fiddle with it.

 

can any year licences work on the new versions though?

ie. 2004 unregistered licence work on 2008/2009/2010 etc?

 

Well, I'm using a 2006 license on the new version, and this is quite a good way to buy, as you can get OEMs of FSIS 2006 for under a tenner now at Ebuyer.

i took jerrys advice and went looking on ebay, saw a 'job lot' of 25 1year cd's for 2006 suite, only had one bid with a few hours to go, so i watched it carefully, put my bid in at the end, and won it

best deal ever, 25 years...damn

lol, i will just add it to another snapshot like i did with bitdefender.

im stuck for choice now, i didnt want another AV, as bitdefender was/is only a backup because its 2 user (it was bought for the pc, i use a laptop), but at this price... i think ANYONE would take it.

if drweb did licences greater than 3 years, i would sell about 5 or so and get a few more years on my drweb

but, they dont... maybe they should though

i did used to be a fsecure licence holder, didnt you know this, before drweb and trend micro.

i'll have 3 av's now all on different snapshots, i think im turning into you jeff.

This is were i differ tho, im drweb ... through and through, the other 2 are backups. (1 i didnt pay for, and 1 is the best deal EVER!!!)

still i will be a drweb-er, and continue to boast about it as its very under-rated, they have great support and i'll look forward to further advancements with them.

 

I hope you don't find they are just keys, Chris, but I have no doubt you would have checked that before you placed your bid. It sounds like a great deal, indeed, but I am reminded of a saying, "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is".

There are some very good deals on ebay, and I have never been burned. I admit I never got quite the deal that Chris did.

always been a fan of f-secure, and only left due to wanting a change.

2008 is definatly lighter than 2007 anyway, i just hope the support has changed, when i used to be with them, i found the responses almost automatic and robotic-like, they usually didnt even contain any of the same topic as my questions.

but, we'll see.
