I did have a real nasty trojan lil time ago wich av's couldn't get rid of and was happy enough that trojan hunter was able to disarm it partially. Unfortunetly BoClean didn't recognized it but this was only one sample.

I'm using A-squared Anti-Malware and I like it so far (4 months). I noticed very recently that the updates have been often and large. I guess this is a good thing ;). I also like the IDS that is included with user friendly alerts.

    Cheers

Hi Lanchi, I have BOClean 4.25 installed on my PC, and so far have had no problems to test its affectiveness. Would you do me a favor and report back to let us know if BOClean found and fixed your problem? Good luck.

    Hi

I reported on the first page. That trojan I had is gone and it was Trojan Hunter or/and F-secure that killed it after a couple of scans. I tried BoClean, AVG, SAS and some other software but, by then, the trojan was already gone so they couldn´t find anything. i used then more to doublecheck. I bet they all are as good.

With no doubt It's A-squared antimalware. No other can't defeat it. I've been using it for many years and It saved my bacon a lot of times.Best Regards.

Doesn't SAS cover much trojans as A-squared?
I heard SAS is nice stand-alone software. :doubt:

It is, and so are others as well. What is good (best ;)) for one person is not good/best per definition for another person.
Besides one should better not argue, or better not post in threads like: What's the best...........?

I would recommend both of them because I have the two licenses and I use A-Squared Antimalware as real time protection and SAS as the second one. I bought SA lifetime edition. Best Regards.

I have been using Trojan Remover now for 5 years and have been very happy with it. Granted there are other application out which I'm sure are adequate, but for me "TR does the job. It does lack a real time monitor, but that in my opinion is not a must......TR upon boot scans all the necessary files which does the job. Also updates are frequent. Now I know there is a lot of support for Trojan Hunter........I am not impressed to the point where I would trade of TR. plus I have found support and response from the developer to be less the friendly and I am being kind.

Last time i used TR the ondemand scan speed was unacceptable.

SAS is one heck of an anti spyware product; fast and daily updates, informative, tweaky, etc.

However it isn't an anti trojan unless i missed somethingh?

Trojan Remover detects and removes trojans as well as spyrware. You are correct the on demand scanner is slow......however it leaves no stones unturned. SAS is very fast I agree but it is not a trojan software in the tgrue sense. Fast does not always mena good......slow I prefer that it scans every file and crevice....

The time of scan doesn't say anythingh about it's effectiveness.

I did like TR, just couldn't grasp y they had to increase scanning time wich before was much more compared to everythingh id used before but still liked it that much that it was acceptable. Did they do somethingh with the gui or is it me?

However if you find it effective i will take your word for it and next time use it on an heavily infected system and let it rip all night. When it detect will it continue it's scan without user interaction? Can it be set to clean automaticly? Can it be set to shutdown after scan and cleanup is finished?

Can you tell me some more of your experiences with it?

trojan Remover from my experience over the years is very effective. When you run a complete scan and a trojan is detected it will stop and alert you immediately. It will offer you multiple choices to choose from " ignore.....delete..... quarantine ......rename....or leave as is. Its database is quite impressive to say the least. GUI is user friendly.....or yes a new version will be coming out shortly....give it a try....one of the new features will be able to exclude files from scan at your beckon.....Look.....run it.....and test it out make your own mind up.....for me........after using it over the years....its dependable......effective and .....does the job well.

Sandboxie has the ultimate removal tool for any and all malware downloaded from the net.

It's called "Delete Contents of Sandbox".;)
