Net7 security switch

Does anyone have experience/advice/recommendation regarding this device found at: www.net7technologies.com ?
Even tho this is a device, not software, could it be considered a service and stay in this forum? It was advertised in PCWORLD mag.

Hello .
If you use a cable or DSL modem , just push the on off button . Most have them now . This device is a rip in my opinion . Instead of spending the money on that , just unplug your internet plug (ethernet or phone line ) . That easy . I bet they make a killing on such a device . Good luck to you and save your money

 

A button is nice, but I think Id rather save my money and just unplug my cable manually.

Why is your device so expensive, they only sell for $39.95 and includes an ethernet cable!!

I can see this being useful for someone morbidly obese, a disabled individual, or an extremely lazy person.

 

Can't you also just disable your 'Local Area Network' through 'Network Connections'? Can't someone write a batch file for that and sell it for $19.95? I could create a shortcut to Network Connections for $4.95 .

Seriously though, I have been giving this some thought because my isp is upgrading and I could lose my modem that has a button. Is it just as safe to disable my LAC as it would be to pull the Ethernet cable? I appreciate any input.
