    well, hello.

its good to be back, finally sorted out my internet problems etc.

    start of rant:

well, im starting to really 'wonder' about drweb and their 'targets & schedules'.

4.44 should have been released by now, and now they mention dates in september now.

ive been using the beta since day 1 and have always found it stable and bug free, and although some things dont work as they should on it, its because they havnt put that in the beta, so i dont understand the deley.

im starting to really wonder why drweb have more intentions towards releasing stupid beta tools to help set up spam in outlook, and always 'on the ball' with new updates for the FREE cureit utility.

paying customers are getting nothing, i now feel suckered (if thats a word - im sure lodore will know what i mean) into purchasing an extra year onto my licence, as for the past 6 months or so, ive been using a completly free beta.

dates get passed around by the staff, but although there are no 'set dates', i feel they are way off mark, so the staff themselves do not know. o_O

we also get promised things, that obviously brake down..... and promises promises of future releases, or future features seem no more or less than hearsay to me,

    propaganda, promotional crap.

im tired of having no 'proper version', and also tired of the lack of updates to its features, always promises promises, when will a spokesperson actually tell their paying customers what is going on!

    end of rant: :thumbd:

Personally you have done them quite a few favors in your support. I dont know Chris, but maybe it is time to head to Finland. To be secure.

    Finland? Explain please.:p

As for DrWeb's delay in releasing 4.44 -- I am using 4.43 with great satisfaction. It updates quick & light, is rock steady, & gives me great protection. I recently needed support -- it came quick & friendly & did the job. Very satisfied. They ARE watching the store.

I look forward to 4.44, but am pleased that DrWeb folks are shaking it down thoroughly before releasing it.

Was it a typo? I think you meant 4.33. If yes then its scanning speed is too slow. Also after update it freezes the computer for a few seconds while biting the new files.

In any case C.S.J raised a valid point. Giving the public a solid stable release is one thing but hanging the paying customers like this is unacceptable unless the new version sets the comparison charts on fire.

well i have my kaspersky licence, i just dont like my licence -6 months for a free beta which is accessible to everyone, to me this is daylight robbery.

sure, there is 4.33, however..... i simply cant just use this on vista.

maybe i could just keep using drweb betas for LIFE and have a lifetime licence with them, all for free eh? :doubt:

i just think they are paying more attention to stupid outlook tools and new cureit versions, instead of releasing a released product to their paying customers.

i mean, it IS the paying customers that keep the company rolling on

    ------------
i mean other companys, have at least made their released version vista-ready so they wont be stuck like this, and 'forced' to use a free beta.

ie. kaspersky made v6 vista ready, while having the beta of v7 aswell.

either drweb should have made 4.33 vista ready, or release this damn 4.44 which keeps dragging on......

bellgamin, do you not have that obnoxious freeze issue after every update?

Other than that the doctor has been rock solid but I question why the jerks have not fixed this. They have lost many customers over it too.
They have 8 months to fix this issue or get replaced. Enough is Enough!!!

    Hi chris,
im guessing that kaspersky have a bigger team so they can have one team working on vista compatiblity for vista.
meanwhile other people are working on V7 beta.
dr web 4.44 has been in beta for ages.
also where is the link to the 4.44 cure it beta?
i want to download it to see if the FP with sonicstage has been fixed yet.

they still need to be faster for sure, and no news to its customers is what i hate the most.

C.S.J. you have a perfectly good Kaspersky licence as you've said. If I were in your shoes I'd be using it.

No freeze whatsoever. Could it be because I update manually?

As to scan speed, I have no idea how fast (or slow) DrWeb scans. I start my scans at bedtime, and they are always finished by the time my prostate wakes me up for my nightly tinkle.

    Yes, it's 4.33 not 4.43.o_O

They do know. But they won't tell you. Since it's one of the worst things if you announce a date and you cannot keep it (for whatsoever reasons)
You can basically announce a date when you have uploaded the release version on your webserver for downloading. And even then the webserver could go down and nobody is able to update :D There are so many things to consider a lot can go wrong in the meanwhile that it's always better to announce such dates as late as possible. Otherwise this leads into serious trouble when customers ringing your phone and pointing you towards your announcement.

indeed. ESET learnt that the hard way with the announcement of the ESS beta that didnt materialise on the date publicised. They are now wisely keeping quiet about future release dates for the betas/final, which is how it should be.

yeah i do understand this, but i also think the licence holders should recieve some info, drwebs 'news' page is quite blank for real news, or maybe they could just send out an email to their customers or something with 'something' to look forward to.

with drweb still not having a released version for vista use, we are all stuck with a beta and the licence continues you tick down, which is all good and well, but i feel a little let-down by drweb, that i could be doing all this for free.

a have a few other licences for various av's, but i just feel drweb have handled this a little poorly.

    your completly right, i wouldn't.

but i still might give some others a try, or maybe use one of my other licences while im still stuck in beta-limbo.

Plans need to be laid out and customers kept informed. But dates of deployment are a no no. I think the best 2 at keeping folks informed either through their beta or regular forums are Avira and Kaspersky.

I don't think it's a good idea to publish PERSONAL, CONFIDENTIAL emails here in the forum! *Assuming* this email would be from me i would get quite pissed if someone posts such things in public.

Ok, I don't agree with posting personal information w/o consent from both parties as is one of MANY Wilders policies. But, one should look into the License agreement for stipulations on upgrades of the program in respect to current operating system coverage or a lack there of. Maybe you can have your license extended in a case like this..?
