I have been using MusicMatch Jukebox for years, and just got a pop up when I signed on saying they will no longer exist after August. I was directed to Yahoo!Music Jukebox where I registered and my MM account was transferred. I have been reading the Yahoo manual (about half way through) and it seems OK. Some things are better. It's definately directed at teens, but us older kids won't have a problem. No classical to download. I guess it takes up too much ram.

I have been using MusicMatch for some years and upon accessing it recently, I was told they are going under in August, and if I click the link I will be referred to its replacement "Yahoo Jukebox". I did so and installed it. It works fine for me, and I can't find any faults with it except one. It continually tries to get you to sign up for the "Unlimited" version that is $72 per year if you pay up front. That might be good for heavy listeners but the fly in the ointment is that they AUTOMATICALLY renew your subscription at the end of each year. We know how that works. I don't want the service. I just want to use the free Radio service which is good, and burn an album once in a while. Well, I tried to burn an album and entered my credit card info. Then I clicked continue which took me to their EULA which I read. If you click agree, you are signing up for the Unlimited service for $72, and then they download your album. Cute eh? As you might expect I clicked cancel. Now MusicMatch didn't require you to sign up for their Unlimited service in order to burn an album, what's with Yahoo. Does anyone know of a music jukebox with radio that doesn't require a super subscription in order to burn a song or album?

Update: I am trying iTunes which allows me to burn CDs and listen to radio music. I'm not buying an ipod, but that's OK because this software does everything else too. It's a little slow to respond at times and I have to hunt a little bit to find certain music (smooth jazz) but it's free to use and as best as I have been able to find out in two days, it's doing the job. I downloaded and burned an album today, and it was fast and sounds great.:D

New update for iTunes. Along with my above review, I can add that the Radio selection is extensive enough for anyone. iTunes is one of the few that has classical music as well. I've adjusted it to my liking and have had no problems. They let me know there was an upgrade the other day and I downloaded and installed it with no problem.:)

    smplayer_0.5.21_full_setup.exe release notes
    Most important changes:

    * New GUI. Now there are toolbars, the control at the bottom is different (and it changes if the window is made smaller), the icons can be changed (several icon themes are available). In fullscreen mode the floating control that appears when you move the mouse to the bottom of the screen is new too and this time the video doesn't resize when it shows.
    * Configurable key shortcuts. A shortcut editor has been added, it's located at "Preferences->Mouse & keyboard". Please read Configurable_shortcuts.txt.
    * Support for VCD. Now you can also play VCD discs. (This feature doesn't work on Windows, as currently MPlayer on Windows has no support for VCD yet)
    * System tray icon. Now it's possible to leave SMPlayer running in the system tray. This feature requires Qt 4.2. It works in Linux (all window managers that implement the freedesktop.org system tray specification, including recent versions of KDE and GNOME) and Windows. It's also possible to have this feature with Qt 3, if SMPlayer is compiled with KDE support. By the way...
    * Added support for KDE 3. Optionally SMPlayer can be compiled with KDE support. It will use the KDE open dialogs, and there will be an option to dock the application in the system tray.
    * Added some new functions, like pan&scan, stay on top, set the size of the window...
    * Improved support for subtitles. For instance, now you can load a idx/sub file and you'll be able to select among all languages that the file provides. You can have a mkv file with embedded subtitles, load an idx/sub file (or srt, sub...) and all subtitles will be available.
    * New translations. SMPlayer 0.5.0 is translated (totally or partially) to the following languages: Bulgarian, Czech, German, Spanish, French, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Georgian, Dutch, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Slovak, Serbian, Swedish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified-Chinese and Traditional Chinese. By the way, now it's possible to change the language at run-time.

KMPlayer (Korean Media Player) is by far the best and more flexible player (in my opinion of course). It even replaced my foobar in audio files.

I strongly recommend to give it a try, it doesn't even install on hard disk.

    Hi

for me, the best is Winamp. been using it since '97, so i'm very used to it and i know exactly what to expect. maybe others have more/better features, but winamp is the best for me.
Tried WMP and iTunes, but didn't like them. I'm ocationally using WMP for some movies...

Also, I use TCMP for winamp unsupported codecs (and TCPMP in my pda as my default player, audio and video)

Reading this thread, I tried some of the players:
BeoPlayer: nice interface, liked it, but memory usage was to high.

JetAudio: liked it, would consider it as a replacement for winamp (if i found anything wrong with winamp). Lots of features.

GOMplayer: nice, but i found it to be "yet another player"...kept it as a backup in case TCMP fails to play some video file

XMplayer: really liked it, very "winampish", VERY light on resources, no installing... unfortunately, couldn't get the "media buttons" from my laptop to work with it... kept it in my usb drive

I tried GOM player and it would not work properly for me. Maybe it was because of Vista? It certainly looks to have a lot of bells and whistles though.

This might be a dumb question but I just installed JetAudio but I am having trouble unstanding how to maximize the player properly.
When I first opened the program for the very first time, the main player was opened covering the whole screen and it looked great. I saw "My Music" and "My Videos" etc on the left column, similar to the WMP layout. It also had the toolbar at the bottom and the external spectrum window.
Now I can't seem to open the main player FULL SCREEN like it was when I first started the program...
    How do I do this?

EDIT: Nevermind, I've worked out how to do it now.
