thats as complete and burns as wello_O

i use nero 7 right now on vista and wowowowow its ridiculously huge and a super serious system hog... i am now trying ashampoo burning 7 much less resources and about 48mb i think for full install... not bad.. BUT it cant seem to do track names for cd's and as well all the burned cd's sound very low or quiet.. i did try with its normalize on and off.. didnt help..

i need something light and complete is there any suck animal out there?? use it for .iso files a lot and lots of mp3's.. ashampoo only does .wav which is another downfall imo...

lmk with any other suggestions.. also i am not just looking for a "cd" burning program but more of a simple suite of things like what nero is but with less bloat to it.. thanks

The two best and free burning utlities out there are IMGBURN for all kinds of burning and BURRN for music stuff, both are extremely light with all the necessary tools to burn your CD/DVD and are free as well.

lodore - Nero 7 Micro is just that: Burning ROM and Nero Express only.

There is a Nero 6 Lite I think. You might have to search the MSFN forums.

I use CDBurnerXP Pro (freeware) for burning and verifying CD's and DVD's, which does a good job and less failures than bloatware Nero 6.
In Nero I always had to choose between CD functions or DVD functions.
CDBurnerXP Pro knows already that it is a CD or DVD.

Recently, I discovered that the functions of CDBurnerXP Pro regarding creating and burning ISO files aren't good enough.
So I have now Alcohol120% (payware) to create and burn ISO files.

How about trying CyberLink Power2Go? I find it to be much smaller in terms of download size than Nero, and has some pretty nifty features, though I think the interface could use slight improvements in some areas. :)

That's what I replaced Nero with, and stuck with for 7 mos.

Not free but IMO it puts Nero to shame. I have no problems at all with it and I burn a lot of movies and music and programs.
