Trying to Build BartPE CD but Mustang's plugins are gone!

Hi all, there are many threads here on building a BartPE disk using ATI plugins, but Mustang's site no longer has them for download. I am looking for a Disk Manager v9 plugin. Thanks!

 

If it is just the plug-in you want it should be in your installation folder of DM.

 

Are you talking about Disk Director 9?

If so, I only have the plugins for version 10 of DD. If someone has the plugins for version 9 and would send me a copy to post on my site, please send me a Private Message.

 

Sorry, yes I am looking for that plugin for DD 9. It is not in my install directory of the product. I don't think Acronis had written it at time of purchase. Thanks!

 

I don't think Acronis even did BartPE plugins for DD 10.

 

I found v10 plug here in the forum, but i have v9 and the v10 plug will not work with DM v9 during the bart build. what to do?

Also, another bonus q: I assumed that creating a bartpe cd to use with the ATI plugin would increase backup/restore speed. I see NO difference in speed. I have a plainjane USB external drive. Why do folks here say it's faster? If I add the time spent to create the bartPE cd, which is no short task, it's SLOWER. Thx...

The speed difference depends on the computer's hardware and how well the Linux drivers TI uses supports it. If the Linux drivers work well with your hardware, you may not notice much difference in speed. On a lot of systems, the XP drivers are many times faster than the Linux drivers.

Also, BartPE is still not as fast as doing the backup/restore from Windows directly (at least on my system).

I don't know if you could make a bootable iPod Shuffle. I don't have one so I can't do any tests. You might try searching the forum or doing a Google search and see if anyone has done it. There seem to be a lot of hacks and modificates available for iPod devices.

hi, thanks for that. because of the commonness of the keywords, it's almost impossible to sort this one out. I did find an article where one dude made a RAID array with a hub and 4 shuffles. That was pretty wild. But it was done with a mac formatted shuffle. Saw a few more mac-formatted shuffles with how tos. But none really for a PC. But I suspect it's doable...just don't know how. It would be cool to get a bartPE on a stick you could carry around and still have a little room left for tunes.
