XP Security says that ESS AV is turned off

    ..yet when I open ESS it says all is OK - who do I believe? One thing I did do yesterday was remove an exe program called ifinst26.exe - could this be the problem??

    At the moment I believe ESS over XP security centre and am carrying on. Current virus database is 2404. Any ideas?

    Hi !

    1. Check if ESS is really updated
    2. Check if it is really working , you can test with this or this

    If (1) and (2) are OK , then try this . It is valid for all security products including NOD32 and ESS

    Gotta love Eicar! Yes, ESS is working and the warning in the task bar has gone away. Thanks for the links and the peace of mind
