Hi all, I've just patched my uxtheme.dll, using this, and am looking for some cool themes to play with.

So, what themes do various peoples use, and where can I get them?

If anyone can suggest a vista-like theme, that doesn't mangle the minimize / maximize / close buttons on comodo fw I'd really appreciate it.

this is what I've got atm, Aquinox.

    Thanks

    Hello,
WSF, that's very Ubuntuesque, I like it.
    Thanks,
    Mrk

P.S. How do you install it? There's no .theme in the downloaded package?

Thanks Mrk. I also have the Super Turbo Tango Patcher to match.

As for the theme just extract the folder to C:\WINDOWS\Resources\Themes. And then you can select the msstyles as in the screenshot above.

Here is another thread to look over: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,15881045 Belchfire has some very good themes, Nightshades 5 posts down is good as is Brilliant. Anyway, there are many more and uxtheme.dll patcher won't be needed; just save and extract them to windows>resources>themes.

This is the graphite one. Looks great with my Tango native Opera skin.
    Thanks for the tip :)

i always get themes from here -
    http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showforum=36
    http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/windows/visualstyle/?order=9&alltime=yes

    here's a dock - http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2790.html

bb4win is good too, but you have to do a bit of configuring to get it working - http://www.bb4win.org/news.php
here's some screenshots - http://www.boxshots.org/style/ i'm not sure if all the screenshots are bb4win, but some are i think. it's like fluxbox and openbox for linux.

    I'd really like a freeware dock that can handle the taskbar icons, and keep everything in the order;

start menu -> quick launch -> thumbnails (optional, not that important) -> taskbar

Visual tooltip does all of this, but it won't let me "fix" the position of any of the objects.

Thanks for all your responses :)

I like to have different themes but one annoyance for me is, many themes I try to use do not show 24 point font well in titlebars when apps are running in less than full screen, text spills out of them. I know the font is a large size but with poor sight that is what I use. Also, except for the old classic style themes, the recent documents menu and taskbar button fonts are quite small. Other than that, I like a lot of the color schemes but wish I could get the large fonts having the same behavior as they do in the classic style themes.
