You need to do a fresh install (re-download the setup file).

Once installed, do a manual update. (The latest update was sometime mid-afternoon, July 3 EST.)

I kept trying to "manually" update the program, and it caught a new update around that time. Ever since, no problems whatsoever with startup and kernel problem.

I just did all that, and nothing happened, only this time not just that it crashed, but I didn't have no internet connection. That was weird. I uninstalled ESS, reboot and BOOM I'm online again

I've reinstalled and that seems to have fixed the problem but my last update for the virus database reads July 3rd and this is the seventh. How do I go about manually updating the program itself. Is there a new program out on the Eset website?

PS. even with the "fixed" ESS beta 1b I can't update through proxy with authentication

Eset had better add function setting because it's easy to use.

...so I uninstalled ESS and then downloaded the latest program that was in the post by Hitech. Rebooted, reinstalled and this time the download took affect when initiated manually. I'm now on version 2377 of the database and I assume the updates.

Why haven't Eset been in contact to at least reassure everybody?

I don't this what you show is a bug . System is secure even though anti-spam is disabled . SPAM is not a security threat , just annoying mails. It is written "email and Internet is secured" because ESS does scan the pop3 and http traffic for malware

I meant "...email....is secured..." while Anti-spam is turned off - it's not quite wright. I waited the ESS icon to become yellow...but.

even though I didn't have this problem I will respond to you on this... if I was to have this problem I'd rather they not say anything and fix the problem then come here and tell us everything is alright and fix it later.

No , it is secured . The email traffic is scanned for all kind of threats . SPAM is not threat .You may burn because of real malware but never from SPAM :thumb:
