My computer got jacked and I had to restore an image; now Antivir says my free license is expired and I have to upgrade to the premium. How can I get free Antivir back? I like it!

    Thanks.

when you say free, do you mean from beta testing. I can tell you it is best to save any free license in a safe place. I would post in their beta forum and ask.

No, I just have the free version of Antivir (Antivir personal edition classic).

I would guess something has gone wrong here, the Personal edition classic is free for the forseeable. It does show an expiry date for the free license in the main antivir screen, but it says below that license will automatically be prolonged about 4 weeks before it expires.

I would try fully uninstalling Antivir, then downloading and installing a fresh copy of the free version from here.

You should not need to upgrade to the premium version. There should be automatic renewal to the free version. There might be something wrong when you restored your system. Try uninstalling and reinstalling the program.

Why not? Free version is legit either way and program itself downloads the very same license file when it auto updates the license (AntiVir does that anyway by itself).
