I posted in the FW forum also. I didn't know which would be best as it's a FW with HIPS and more. Are they still working on a little bug G?

I downloaded the trial but it wouldn't let me install - some problem with an internal server activation and a key.

    Anybody else seen this problem?

Yes :( Slight error moving over the activation server - should be now resolved. Let me know if you still have problems...

BTW. Have to point out that for one to one support, you need to head over to the official OA forums over at http://www.tallemu.com... happy to help via PM, but we don't have an 'official' presence here.

    thanks.
yes the finaly is meant as a good thing.
im glad you spent so much time in beta testing to iron out the bugs before going final.
also those great features you had to add.
edit im testing online armour V2 on my test pc.
    works like a charm.
doesnt slow down my old Pentium 3 dell with only 256mb of ram.
except im installing IE6 SP1 on my test pc and online armour keeps popping up about autostart entries.
edit seemed it was a bad install.
i restored an image of my test pc and then installed online armour trial again works fine now.

I don´t want to hurt any feelings or anything, but what exactly is so special about this app? To me it seems to be very basic, not really a full blown HIPS.

    Hi Kees,

Yes it will be this version without the trusted DNS servers provided by Tall Emu for Name resolution.

    regards,

    MaB

i have tested OA against DFK 1 & 2 on several occasions. as you stated OA pops-up on every event DFK attempts. the approach i took which may differ from yours is i clicked on 'Block' at some point in the process and OA stopped it dead in it's tracks. never OWN3D, which is indicative of a test failure.

no hurt feelings or anything. not sure how you interpret full blown, but OA is flexible and offers deep anti-malware functionality:

    http://img22.imagevenue.com/loc960/th_34950_OA_HIPS_Functionality_Screen_122_960lo.jpg

incorporates a simple, yet powerful firewall, that protects against inbound network traffic as well as effective application firewalling:

    http://img129.imagevenue.com/loc497/th_35327_OA_Firewall_Shot_122_497lo.jpg

this combination during my involvement as a beta-tester since the first of the year has been very good against leaktest, but more importantly, has prevented infections from the live malware, and the drive-by malicious sites i have thrown at it. i am by no means AV-Comparitives, but i have tested against dozens and dozens of various spyware, adware, trojans, and viruses (though i have steered clear of rootkits) and OA has stopped them all...even more effectively than Prevx1.

while i may not be dialed in to your concept of "full blown" OA's protection is about as huge as it gets.

Hi, folks: Thanks, MaB. Is this the only risk for freeware(pending) users to face? This deficiency can be offset by using third party app? such as site advisor etc? How ofen does this type of attacks occur in real life? Thanks.
