    Hello,

I am still using TrueImage 9 and have still the problem of extremely slow restore processes.

The reason for this problem is absolutely clear: the Intel USB Storage driver for my chipset included in the Rescue package of TI 9 is very slow - backup in windows takes 2 1/2 hours for 201GB, but restoring in rescue mode takes about 7-8 hours - way too long.

Maybe only a few people realise this because many just use TI to restore their 2 GB system partition. Then the performance isn't that important.

My question: Is there a possibility for me as TI9 user to update the drivers of Rescue package to the newest ones, for example the ones that are included in TI10 ? I don't need the functionality of TI10, I just need the drivers, so maybe there is an update of just this component ?
I just need the latest content of the Rescue CD.

/edit: I just want to add that I can't use BartPE because it just doesn't like my system - it doesn't recognise my USB drive.

If your OS is supported by Bart PE, as jaycee has said, give it another try. It is normally possible to get a dramatic reduction in restore time by that route.
There is a faster way of doing restores than using USB drives. In most PCs it is possible to install a second HDD for imageing and restores. Some laptops can also take a second HDD either directly or via an adaptor in place of an optical drive.
My experience of HDD to HDD restores in rescue mode is that it take about one third the time it took to make the image. Obviously your MMV but it should be possible to get your restore times down to less than one hour.

Oh, less than one hour would be great :D , but isn't possible because of the restrictions of the USB-HDD (25MB/s).
    201*1024=205824MB
    205824/25=8233s
    8233/60=137min
Of course I have tested the maximum reading speed of my HDD, and yes, it really gets up to 25MB/s, so it should take about 2 hours but not more.

The problem is, I don't know why BartPE should solve this problem (when I would get it working), because you can just use your windows S-ATA-Raid drivers, but no Intel USB drivers.

If I restore an image from one partition of my RAID0 to the other, it's running perfectly fast, although it's on the same physical drives.

If there are special USB drivers required for your device they can be added to BartPE. Drivers are added in \Drivers\Scsiadapter\ subdirectory.

its recognised now, but has no drive letter

ti 9 sees it as "partition 1-1" while searching for hdds, but I can't choose it as image source because it's not listed in the explorer.

    Hello MartinH,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please make sure you use the latest build (3854) of Acronis True Image 9.0 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software. Don't forget to recreate Acronis Bootable Rescue Media after updating.

If updating does not solve the problem, please try booting with "acpi=off noapic" parameter as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

If the issue persists, please create Acronis Report and Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post. Please keep the drives in question connected and powered on during the creation process.

Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with a solution.

    Thank you.
