    Hi Guys,

The very best IMO 'Snagit.' One neat thing snagit can do is capture a scrolling window.

FastStone can also capture a scrolling window ;)

I've been using it for about a year now and it's a solid little app.

I hear great things about snagit, but I just don't feel like going to my hip for a screen capture utility.

Link is dead now, and they were quick to remove it :shifty: ...

    Found version 5.3 here : http://www.chip.de/downloads/c1_downloads_20749866.html

I'm not sure I'll advice this program as I did before, I don't like a lot the way they made it shareware without notice, all of a sudden, and removed the free one as quick as they could from download (5.4 released two days ago).

Still running version 2 here, although I might switch to 5.3 soon, according to the tutorial some features I wanted, especially autosave and file name options were included in this new version.

I agree, I like Winsnap. Just remember that with the free version you will be alerted to an available update. That will be for the paid version and a trial period. I am happy with the free version for what I need a screen capture utility and just do not upgrade.

A freeware version is still available at filehippo.com.

:D , it's very good. I think they realized they can't do much more, so time to pull out the freeware.
I recommend it. Knock on wood, keep the old version, but i think you'll end up using 5.3 (now that i check, the one i have is 5.1; this is the one i recommend, i have to get that one to see, should be better somehow)

I also heartily recommend the free FastStone Capture 5.3 (which I (thankfully) still have.) The shareware version 5.4 ain't worth $30 US. (I'm afraid that it will soon fade into the sunset. I know I can't recommend it at that price.)

If I am going to pay for a screen capture program, it would be SnagIt...

    ScreenRip32

    SRIP32

Portable standalone, no install, no integrating into registry period.

I been using it for years, very simple and easy with several options.

    Good Luck On Your Choice.

    Thanks everybody!

I am trialing hoversnap and FastStone Capture at the moment. I like hoversnap it is very easy to use. If i can get FastStone Capture free i will go for that because it had more features. I am not going to pay for it!

Just use the link provided above by NicM :thumb:
I think download.com still has 5.3, but you should rush before they only provide the shareware.

Yep....download.com changed overnight to the shareware version (5.4) of FSCapture. But, good news, I emailed "Last Freeware Version" and they'll soon be posting the last FSCapture freeware version 5.3.

EDIT: It's now available for download on "Last Freeware Version" (URL above)
