    Hi everybody.
I've been using a well known av for awhile and decided to try some other products.
These include AVG, Avira Personal Premium and Kaspersky AV v6 and others.
I also still use Comodo firewall, Prevx1 set to expert, AVG free antispyware, Spywareblaster and a few others.
I now appear to have some type of malware on my system. I say that because I have a 'cid' error I didn't have before.
I'm running a bunch of scan's and HiJackThis to find out what has to be done.'
So my question is this. When speaking of antivirus programs, not the suites, if all of the ones I have tried are in the Advanced Plus tier as rated by AV Comparatives, does it make sense that I can be infected more easily while using one av than the other? How so if I'm infected with malware and not a virus?
I'm thoroughly disgusted but also pretty angry about it.
Hope some of you can help me understand this.
    Thanks,
    J.

Do you feel that your problem is virus related?

In general, I feel that viruses ae the least of our worries. All the spyware, rootkits, keyloggers, trojans, they seem to be the culprit more often than not. Viruses seem to be relativelyunder control.

This is just my opinion and I am far from an expert, but I think the other components of your system are much more improtant than the AV.

Have you posted at a forum that analyzes HiJack This logs?

If you're interested, run Combofix and PM the log to me.

Thanks for getting back to me.
It seems to be a problem with Firefox. I'm waiting to find out more about it.
I was initially sent to a hijack this portion of another forum, which was the basis for my questions.
That said, in the past I've used Webroot's Spysweeper and suffered slowdowns like many others.
So in regards to malware, what's the best way to prevent any problems. Prevx hasn't let me down in almost 2 years but now I wonder if I should go further.
    Thanks.
