    i just wanted to know if anyone is using ZA what do you use for ransomware protection to complement ZA . i would like to buy ZA as it is coming for a cut down price of 19 bucks but the question really upsets me

    Do you have a link?

    Emsisoft, Appguard, OSArmor works fine with ZAP. ("Pro" just the firewall)

    According to their website, ZoneAlarm Pro Firewall is only compatible with Windows Defender, so keep that in mind.

    Just lazy commercial staff that copied the same requirements for all ZA versions. ZA (firewall only) is compatible with other AVs (without a firewall) not just Windows Defender. :)

    No specific antiransomware protection beyond ZAX. Before I tried ZA antiransomware then I was running it with Vodooshield. Now I left ZA alone as I simply use backups as plan B. Anyway, ransomware is overall loosing pace ad intensity.

    fax one last question is ZA compatib le with OSArmor?

    Never used it and no idea on what it does. So difficult to comment on compatibility. Sorry.

    Sorry, long time not using the free version....
    For sure the free version has no custom rules options (e.g. opening a specific port) but no idea if the application control component (HIPS) is the same or been stripped out in the free version.

    Does ZA's FW require a restart when you install it? I would like to test it with Shadow Defender (SD) but SD doesn't allow restarts.
