Xyvos -Whitelist AntiVirus Free

Any one tried this, A So called Antivirus with no signature updates.Basically a white list anti Excutable or behavior,Its very small and super light also very basic and not much in the way of configuration. http://www.xyvos.com/

I heard of it before, but haven't tested it out myself.

I was able to find one Youtube video on the Whitelist version, and it seems to operate pretty well...According to what the video shows.

According to what I've read before, if the file name is too long, then it would not be blocked by Xyvos.

Are they just playing with names? sounds like a black list to me..

 

It is just an anti executable which three operating modes
1 - specific programs approved by the user, hence whitelist
2 - user whitelisted and all software signed by microsoft
3 - user whitelisted and all signed software

Option 2 is safe and solid (still no known malware with a MS signature found) and prevents OS-lockouts.

The Xyvos antivirus also looks at startup entries, no idea whether the whitelist version also checks at this. Would be a nice feature to stop two of the most common/critical intrusion vectors (execution and boot survival).
