Yeaa...me too. Those were the glory days for the UK. I don't have much interest in any of the "sports" being contested. Now if they had sno-blowing or attempting to go 200' to the mailbox and getting back to the house w/o breaking your a55....that I would watch!

    Right on slammer,

Word is that the "Curlers" stopped by Cochise's abode to give him a shampoo and a set.....all 4 hairs!!

Having had a few horses and cows a while back taught me the merits of wiping one's feet.

:isay: Hay it can get down to the 30's at night, now for us S. CA. boys that be cold, plus I hear they might be worth a bloody fortune.

I dig the curling, I think the sweepers are great, I got Mrs. Wildman watching so she can get some ideas on how to make that job go quicker.

    Thanks

The Luge should be made into a contact sport. Let them go down a big hill all at once. Thats the way we did it when I was a kid. Better yet, erect a chainlink fence at the bottom of the hill w/a jagged 5' hole in it. Whoever makes it thru 1st wins. We never lost more than 3 or 4 sledders in any one year.

I think someone over there must be reading this thread. I happened to catch a bit of the Cross Country Skiing. One of the guys took a dive and brought 4 or 5 others down w/him. Best part of the whole race!!

    Proposed Competition: Fencing Ski Jumpers

Now...if they could set up 2 ski jumps facing each other ...when the opposing jumpers hit their peak they could maybe do a little parry and thrust!

yes you are correct the UK's womans curling team are the best in the world (i think ever) i think i've heard all the jokes about mops, housewives sweeping the floor, and irons too. yawn, they'll probably win again this time :D

OK, maybe they were abit lucky to win last time but i can't remember seeing any snow here in England. the curling team are from Scotland. if the Olympics were based around rain we might do abit better :cautious:

I'm sure the lady curlers here in Canada would have a lot to say about that. ;)

Hah...the lady curlers from Italy hone their skills by playing Bocce prior to the competition. They smoke Perodis, imbibe copious amts. of Grappa, and use lots of swear words so don't get too close.

i have absolutely no idea what you're on about :D

i think the GB team won their last match, but i'm not sure, it all looks abit complicated to me. i think Canada lost to Sweden :ninja:

i just looked it up and the Swedes are the favourites to win. i still think the GB team will win though.

the Brits used a "high-tech broom" in training. "Basically, it was a stopwatch on a brush". however, "it's not a magic broom, unfortunately" you can read all about right here.
