Why does updater use an IP address instead of IP name?

When I run the LiveUpdate in SpywareGuard, it connects to 66.227.17.150. There is no reverse DNS lookup on this IP address. So what happens if the server moves and the IP address changes? At least with an IP name, the IP address can change but the IP name will still resolve to whatever is the then current IP address.

    Hey Vanguard

If the IP changes then most likely an Update of its LiveUpdater System will be Available; regardless if the IP resolved it doesn’t necessary mean the Named Address wont unless it’s Forwarding System…

Well, javacoolsoftware.com translates to 66.227.17.150 in DNS.

I had always thought the updater used the name, found the IP address and connected to the webserver at that address to download the update files. Are you sure it's using the IP address and not looking up the name? (I haven't dump the program to see for myself, and Javacool may not be around to answer this right away as certainly he knows what he did and why.)
