What is your security setup these days?

Dumped Windows and all Microsoft products after Windows 10 fried my Dell. Bought wife and kids MacBooks and for me I went with this,

Kaspersky Internet Security 2016 (It doesn't slow down system and with zero false positives so.. what I like in this suite is a solid firewall, application control and safe money feature.)

Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit (Recently added.. testing.. for now works great with Kaspersky.. UI is ugly )

PureVPN (I just love it )

Adguard 6 alpha (Works fine for an alpha version)

I use Windows 10 with UAC full, Windows smartscreen enabled.
Browser: Google Chrome with ublock & https everywhere.
DNS: Norton Connectsafe
Security Software: Emsisoft Antimalware, malwarebytes antiexploit free.

 

I just went from IE9 to IE10 on W7. On IE9 i was using the 64 bit version. When i went to IE10 i only found a 32 and no 64 IE10. So i looked around and found out about how to enable enhanced mode for 64 bit tabs on IE10. Should i stay with IE10 or does IE11 work good with W7.

That's easy, Dragon1952. Do a local store search on the Walmart site and that'll tell you if it's in stock.
If not, order online and select the store pickup option.

Store pickup option sounds good. The Walmart site and the local store don't have the acer now it looks like. The Office Depot/Office Max in town has it in stock or from the site.

 

The question i have if I switch from Avast paid to Emsisoft anti-malware paid is there any type of protection I would be losing? In other words, is there anything that Avast does that Emsisoft doesn't do or vice versa? Reading the product descriptions I'm not confident in my ability to understand exactly anything I would be missing.

 

You'll lose Avast script shield and get Emsisoft behavior blocker. The loss is insignificant and acquisition is considerable.

 

Emsisoft = No unnecessary bloat

 

Script shield is long gone and incorporated into DeepScreen. The bloat could be trimmed w/o paying money, but EAM is still a good choice overall.

- Block Office and WMP to load vb/java-script DLL's and flash OCX
- Allow Outlook mail to start Office/Chrome processes (block others)
- Allow Chrome to launch only GoogleUpdate.exe process (block others)

IE11 does not work on many W7 machines - i've had to go back to IE10

 

I read about W7 and IE11 problems a long time ago. I did not know if any of those problems were fixed.

Good Evening! Just installed McAfee Anti Virus Plus...in tandem with Heimdal Pro...and HMP...and HMP Alert. During install of McAfee...bypassed installing Site Advisor and the Registry Cleaner and File Shredder. Just the A/V and Firewall. McAfee is using their Cloud Component and as a result much less bloat. If anyone's interested Purplus has it on sale for $11.95 for 1 p.c. Sincerely...Securon
