I think it was actually an ESS key that I won and I used both,

 

if you dont need your esset licence i can use it

Trying VoodooShield with WSA...seems to be a nice combo.

 

One of my favorite combos. Just have to add sandboxie to it and you're all set. Waiting for Voodooshield to come out with version 2 and I'll ditch CFW.

 

Trying MSE for the first time.So far so good

 

AppGuard and Sandboxie and scheduled scans with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Pro and Hitman Pro.

 

System only has Immunet right now, waiting for COMODO/SecureAge betas.

I only did use 4 days that combo, and then added Emsisoft Anti-Malware 8.1 30 days trial.
Now i did buy Emsisoft AM 8.1 and i still use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO (+MBAE and HMP.Alert).

Webroot SecureAnywhere AntiVirus is still hanging with me, but i have been starting to unlike it. There are time to time some websites that it blocks, and i know those are not dangerous.
Emsisoft and Malwarebytes also blocks good sites sometimes, but it's much more rare.
edit: i think in Malwarebytes case, blocked url is used for bad,
but some content that is loaded from same url is not bad.

 

Does anyone know who has the best detection rate currently between ESET and Avast?

Ordered a 2nd Western Digital ext HD yesterday.
This one will get loaded with full system backups and assorted other files (emails, pictures, documents, etc) and stored off site (probably in a safe deposit box).
I've always read about this being a great plan in the event of burglary or fire, but until now, for whatever reason, I have not implemented it.
And I still haven't... I've just ordered the HD.
But that puts me one step closer.
I also plan on encrypting all HDs I own.
Might as well make life difficult for the would-be thieves.
(Yes, there are alternate methods of making life difficult for them, and I have some of those in place already.)

 

Yeah, two powerful programs. Looking at your set-up, I now have to give EMET another try and look into Shadow Defender. Isn't that the one where the developer disappeared and no one knows who's running it now?

 

Switched back to 32 bit and currently using Sandboxie and Malware Defender.

 

So,how does OA goes along with Avast?I am thinking of trying it again after more than a year.And what i don't like to the free version is that i can't export-import settings...

I am running Shadow Defender purely as an on demand tool, if I want to get a quick glance at programs like an Anti-Virus or if I want to change some system settings or anything else of which I am glad, that it's gone with the reboot. For every-day use, as part of my security setup, I would consider it too restrictive.

The situation concerning the developer is kind of obscure, I admit that. Yet in spite of that, the program's security is formidable. Further, Windows 8.1 support began as of 2013 Sept. 23, more than a month before the official release. Then take a look at Kaspersky, a company with a revenue in the hundreds of millions, possibly the best programmers you can find, none of them AWOL. Small Office Security supported Windows 8.1 as of 13 Dec. and Endpoint Security as of 23 Dec. So Shadow Defender is doing pretty well regarding the unclear status of its developer
