Adware and trojans are of course not the same. Usually adware is not harmful. Of course there are occasional exceptions to this, but I wonder how many devices you have encountered with actual trojans rather than harmless (but annoying) adware.

Personally my Android devices stay malware free, even when downloading from the various 3rd party app stores I have installed, or when installing a downloaded apk.

    There are also trojans:

I deleted the details so as not to violate anything.

I've noticed some people are using Dolphin Zero. I tried it and it seems good but What do you guys think about the privacy issue with it possibly phoning home?

Now I'm trying Naked Browser. It's small, fast, has the ability to turn off javascript, ad blocking, and can be configured to operate like Dolphin Zero. It also has the fewest permissions of any browser I've found so far.

No no, this is good advice! Head over to XDA forums and elighten yourself a bit. Most android malware is just adware that must install itself as system administrator to actually DO something. This can easily be blocked by flashing an adblock list or by READING app permissions before installing.
+1 Naked Browser is the lightest and fastest android browser, hands-down.
This is totally true, almost any free app comes with some sort of adware, but that's the way devs make some revenue for their hard work. Some are transparent, some are shady, but then again, it's up to one to decide whether to keep the app or not.

The question is is that really a trojan, or just classified as a trojan by the AV?

Ah, okay. So it's a file stealer and device hijacker. That's valid enough for me. Thanks.

Where did they get the trojan? The translated article doesn't seem to show.

IMHO i feel Android is just as secure as iOS. The only reason you see lots of people running AV's is because . . . well we are Wilders members. :D

360 Mobile Safe has more options, but does not offer any better detection.

Is it really necessary to use antivirus in Android? Besides an anti theft, if you are not a pirate you really dont need any active guard.
