Wake Up monitor from sleep mode!

Hi Guys,

My new monitor can use a DVI cable, likewise my ancient ATI 9600 SE video card. Note: The card is AGP 8 & the ATI driver is the latest. When I connect using DVI the monitor will not wake up from sleep mode. The monitor wakes fine when using VGA cable. Current Power options (windows xp sp2)

turn off monitor 2hrs
" " hd 1 hr
sys stby never

screen res 1680 x 1050.

HP monitor support sends me to ATI & ATI does not have a clue!

try lowering teh refresh rate and also check that ur hard drive isnt going to sleep too.

Thanks for post & suggestions. Turns out the ATI 9600 SE card is defective, as another video card is able to wake the monitor using a DVI cable. I replaced ATI with a BFG 6600 GT OC card. Wow its so good, its like butter!. Lucky me!
