VPN and taxes

    Hi, was just about to but a VPN but when I got to the checkout 20% was added in UK VAT, it then occurred to me, can I use a VPN to appear from another country and avoid the tax. Call me stingy but would this work cheers

    Which VPN were you looking at? I know there are no VAT charges for mullvad.

    @n8chavez, Hi i was looking at Surfshark, there is a drop down box for tax purposes, i could choose a country like canada to avoid UK tax, I could match the IP with my vpn, but my credit card or paypal would have a UK address, cheers

    Surfshark is one I've used before. I still have a subscription for it. But there are nothers you might want to look at, ones that have to VAT, such as VyprVPN. If you get the three year deal it ends up being even cheapoer than surfshark. In any case, whichever one you find, look for one with privacy-centered jurisdiction and an audited no logs policy.
