usb hard drive & true image 9

I have created my full backup on a separate usb hard drive.

I am a little confused after reading a number of postings about the need to create a secure zone and also the activation of the recovery manager.

My understanding is that the secure zone can only be created on my primary hard drive and not the usb drive. Do I therefore need secure zone and recovery manager at all?

I presume that the bootable cd I created will allow me access my usb hard drive in the event of any problems.

Sorry if this subject has been raised many times before, I only need a simple explanation for a rookie computer user!

 

You sound like you know what you're doing and you have it right so far. I don't use the SZ. I do what you've done and I have no problems doing so with TI8. TI9 is another story.....

You don't need SZ or Recovery Manager as long as you don't enable the feature. Your presumption is correct.

P.S. I only go to the trouble to say so because the subject header refers to TI9 and not TI8.

 

I sure do agree with you. I let the TI9 reference slip by. Of course, all the regulars here know what I think of TI9.

Your point is very well taken and I hope allangee has the opportunity to fully test his restored image before relaxing with TI9.

 

Actually a restore in any version should be tested to see if the restore actually is going to work anyway until the user is confident that it works.
