    OK. This is Barb the new user again. I have found workarounds for my previous two problems.

    So, here is the next one.

    1. I have created a full image back up & two differential backups against that image on an IOMEGA external drive.

    2. I have verified the archive, and plugged it to see that the differential image correctly picked up some test changes. I can copy files from the plugged image to my internal drive.

    3. I created a rescue CD.

    4. I booted from the rescue CD.

    5. Then, I tried starting Recovery running inside Acronis after booting from the CD. What I got was error message: E000101F4: Unsupported hard disk drives. Does not support Wimdows Dynamic Disks, EZ Drives etc. I also got this message when I clicked "verify archive".

    I don't think I have any of the unsupported drive types. I think this means that I could not restore from my archive in the event that my internal drive was corrupted. Not such a good place to be.

    Is there something I don't understand here? Does anyone know what is causing this problem or how to work around it?

    Again. Thank you.

    Barb

    Hello Barb Nash,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    First of all, please make sure that you use the latest build (2337) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please uninstall any previously installed build by following Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> Acronis True Image, prior to installing build 2337.

    Please create new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update, boot your PC from this CD and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists with Bootable Rescue CD created using the latest build (2337) of Acronis True Image 9.0 then please create Linux system information (sysinfo.txt) as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please also create Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please keep your Iomega external drive connected while creating Acronis Report and Linux system information.

    Could you please also make a screen shot of Windows Disk Management by following Start -> Control Panel -> Performance and Maintenance -> Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Disk Management?

    Please submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
