I'm running Vista (i know it's crap) with eset nod32 2.7 along side to threatfire last version , however after a week the machine didnt boot , after i went to safe mode and uninstalled the threatfire it booted propoly.

My question is in two parts, 1, did anybody encounterd this kind of issue?
    2. what is a good replacment for ThreatFire (low footfrint and goo security ) ? does OA free is good enough (also it has a firewall) any issues with Eset and OA?

    Thanks Guys ,

    Hi

    1. I do not use Vista, sorry

    2. I think the other good smart behavioural blockers are PRSC/NAB and Mamuto.

Online Armor's HIPS is very good, but I thought the Vista version was still in betao_O? o_O

Depends if you want to mess with all the initial pop ups, but Comodo/D+ would probably do the trick.

Vista OA final is a little ways off yet.

With XP Home SP3, I use NOD32 v3 with TF, Windows Defender, AVG Anti-Spyware, Online Armor Free, Sandboxie and occasionally (just to update) Spyware Doctor Starter Edition, all without any conflicts. Lost Fasterfox with Firefox v3, but according to its timer, most pages rendered in less than two seconds with Ff v2. If they didn't I blame it on the site.

    Hello Painkiller,

Since late-12/07, I have successfully been using Primary Response SafeConnect(PRSC) on two Vista 32 SP1 Velocity Micro computers with both UAC and Windows Defender disabled. In any case, Norton AntiBot(NAB) or PRSC would be a good replacement for ThreatFire.

Please take a look at the following links below for some interesting information regarding NAB/PRSC.

    Hope this helps.
