    OK...but you know the first thing in security is trust...at this time no trust in this case. So I don't see anything false in my opinion.

    It's not mentioned on the web page. I would wait on that.

    I don't know what you mean by "often connected with words crak, pirated, keygen and often listed on Russian pages" as this comes directly from Shadow Defenders site.

    It may be just a test version though, for those with specific problems and that were in touch with Tony.

    Yes I agree and Tony always had downloadable versions before release that weren't on the webpage. I've downloaded this version SD1.4.0.668_Setup.exe and virus checked it, although I haven't tried it as I'm happy with an older version that I use on XP and I'm in no rush for an update. Last time Tony released a separate version for XP. Currently there doesn't seem to be a SD1.4.0.668_SetupXP.exe available.

    I am going to wait to see if there are any significant changes. Only two AV's flag it on VT.

    If you also scan latest official release 1.4.0.665, VT reports 2 engines found a threat. (FALSE POSITIVE indeed).

    IMHO no need to alarm for wierd unfounded comments. Again, the files are signed.

    As already mentioned by others before, Tony sometimes uploads versions for testing purposes, you know, when someone is facing an issue and he pushes a fix. Because of this, I don't think you can get a changelog, at least publicly, by email perhaps?

    Some people just...
    This triggers me more than it should. Some random user comes here telling some non-sense and "everybody" just follows him.

    I mean, if the file was from some uploads website, you could indeed doubt its authenticity but that's not the case as it comes from Shadow Defender own website/server. That, and @Mister X already said in his previous comments as well.

    On the other hand why not label .668 as a beta and make it available at the SD website...

    It means that...today there are some other results of searching phrase "SD1.4.0.668_Setup.exe" but examples are enough

    Fine. They (hackers) could have hacked Tony's servers and steal a private key, sign a file with malware, then put it back to his servers ready to be downloaded. Although very unlikely in my opinion, it could be possible as SD has become quite famous (many know its power).

    Now, there's the fact and history that Tony use to up test files for certain users. So using common sense I would stick to this. Granted we should hold on those test files targeted for specific users only.

    I don´t see anything unusual here. Normal stuff in torrent sites. The stable, official versions of SD appear in the website. I only download from it.

    What you are saying makes no sense. The same happens for build 1.4.0.665 and every other software out there...

    Anyway.

    Been running Shadow Defender for around 8 years now, about 2 of those years or so with a Samsung Laptop, SSD drive, Windows 10/64bit and all has been running fine w/o any issues thus far.

    Has THAT much time gone by already? o_O

    Not a single issue since first using SD but I don't dare count the years and I don't wanna know anyway. Let's just say since Windows XP LoL

    OK...so we can say it's "after the tea"...new SD is officialy released and no problem actually but
    @Robin A.
    @yeL
    If you don't see nothing wrong among results with cracks, keygen ot something like that and it's normal for you download such files...your choice...your risk...your fun. About 7 years with SD let me say that I saw few strange things connected with SD - Tony's disappearing/appearing, versions from "nowhere"...fake SD's pages...clones based probably on stolen code, etc. so for me it's wise not to trust everything what appears outside official release. It's my privat opinion and my experiance which I want to share with others users...
    At the end...after all I think it would be useful to call a bit forgoten rules written years ago...many things had been changed but such rules are still crucial

    But you are the only one here talking about cracks/keygens.

    I don't download files from 3rd party sites as well. The new build from SD is on their own website/servers, so there's no such thing as fake SD. Your argument would be valid if the version was only available through 3rd party websites and not SD.
