Hi everyone Just playing around with the demo version of this software. The only problem I'm seeing is that Mozilla Firefox will not open at all, even when it's manually entered into the exclude list (via explorer context menu). I'm running it on a Windows 10 machine, x64, 1909. Can anyone help? Cheers
While I do believe SpyShelter should work fine with FireFox, I'm with Brummelchen in wondering why you think you need it? You have Windows 10, and it appears you keep it current and that alone provides an excellent front line security defense. If you have kept the default Windows Defender and Windows Defender Firewall, and you are not "click happy" on every unsolicited link, popup, download, and attachment you see (and you avoid visiting "illegal" pornography and gambling sites) then you are good to go! If you are using another anti-malware solution like Bitdefender, Kaspersky, Avira, Avast, etc., and you keep it current, then you are still good to go. Keyloggers are just another type of malware. All decent anti-malware solutions, including WD, are designed and coded to detect and block all kinds of malware, including keyloggers BEFORE it has a chance to be downloaded, installed and get deployed on our systems. W10 is not XP. We don't need additional layers of security like we did with XP - they just waste our system resources at best, or cause conflicts with other programs (which you appear to be seeing now). On top of keeping W10 current, sticking with Windows Defender and WD Firewall, and avoid being "click-happy" (the set up I use on all my own and family computers), I do recommend having a secondary malware scanner "on demand" just to make sure you, the user and always weakest link in security, or your primary scanner, regardless which one you use, didn't let something slip by. And I generally recommend Malwarebytes for that. Again, the setup I use (successfully!) on all my systems. So who needs a keylogger? Someone who does not keep their OS or security programs current. Someone who uses default passphrases (or their dog's name) on their networks. And someone who has no physical control over their computers and allows just anyone unsupervised, public and admin access to their machines. Now if after all that you still think you need a keylogger, I recommend you contact SpyShelter support. I see in their FAQ comments about FireFox extensions so it would appear FF itself should work with SpyShelter.
