I'm using it now, and honestly don't have an opinion as of yet, because it has only been two days and I am still training it. If by tomorrow I still have to train it to catch like 20 or so spams a day then I will have to say it is not worth it. If a person gets 22 emails a day and 20 are spam and spamihilator can't eliminate like 98% or so after 4 days of usage I will have to conclude by saying it does not do its job. I will then try k9, then spambayes, then popfile.

Damn you have chosen the best of the best to test for windows free stuff.

    Some people like Frontgatemx too

Also try http://www.spamrip.com/ , it's based on CRM113 Markovian filter which claims to be more accurate than naive bayesian filters since it handles n phrase tokens.

E.g it looks at phrases like your own free, and not just indidivual words.

    Hi Salamander,
Spamihilator is quite good. Got about 85% the first two days and at the end of the week it was about 94%.
Pro's: It's free, it updates regularly (there's also a beta) and it has several plugins
to increase spam recognition rate or to add new features to the program.
It also interacts with your email client as a proxy, so after you've teached the Bayesian filter,
you probably won't have to look much into the vault. :)
Con's: I couldn't find any during my test period and the developer is really very responsive to questions asked.

Edit:  Sorry, I had almost 93% detection rate after one week training. Just found my screenshot back from a last year. I also used some of the plugins.

Of course you've got many other free spamfilters like K9 (who's detection rate is very high and the learning is really fast),
Spampal, PopFile, Mailwasher and many others.

Try them out to see what you like best. ;)
