Now that Microsoft has quit supporting Windows XP, does that mean they will no longer provide updates for XP?

Where did you hear that? Are you mistaking the cessation of having XP installed into NEW computer systems that was implemented by MS just recently? It means that new PCs will only have Vista on it (or better or worse) from now on. :gack:

Must have been it plus the Microsoft Vista stand a couple of months ago. Maybe I need to defrag my brain-housing group. :D

Well hopefully it would degrade to that point for you. ;) Not like for someone who lived pretty close to you.

Oh yeah. Real sad that one. Had it all and ended with tragedy. He was the writer of SpySweeper and sold it for a LOT of money. He loved Hawaii and came here frequently. I guess money doesn't do it all. May he rest in peace.

Actually, all it means is that XP will no longer be available at retail. You can get a new system with XP installed. It's called downgrading and has been available previously and still is, it's just not widely publicized.

The only caveat to this is that some small systems builders may not offer it but the large ones do offer it (but once again it's not highly publicized) and of course business is still free to install XP or Vista if they purchase a Vista license.
