Sometimes Sandboxie does not empty the sandbox although all programs have been closed that ran inside that sandbox. The reason is that the explorer.exe process for that particular sandbox still runs in memory instead of closing itself. If you close explorer.exe manually sandboxie will empty the sandbox like intended. It's not a big deal actually but I wonder why the explorer.exe process still runs in memory although you don't have any windows opened regarding that sandbox. For me it seems that explorer.exe hangs at that time still running in memory but doing nothing actually. So I think this is not an issue caused by sandboxie. Anyone else noticed that issue?

I've never experienced that sort of problem.........sandboxie always auto deletes contents after closing program......and I can check it by using sandboxie control..........the only time sandboxie does not auto-delete is when I shut off or reboot computer while the sanboxed program is open......

I can confirm that - in rare cases - this happens to me too:
But I did not make inquiries about the reasons as described by Arcanez:
I simply always take a look at the tray icon of Sandboxie if the red dots on the yellow ground actually disappear when closing the sandbox (which in my configuration should lead to the automatical emptying of the sandbox). When it does not work (only in rare cases, as mentioned above), I empty the sandbox manually.

Wouldn't adding explorer.exe to 'Lingering Programs' for the sandbox in question be a workaround here?

Whenever this happens, doing a reboot takes care of it as the sandbox deletes easily afterward. Sometimes this happens because files inside the sandbox are being used or accessed by other programs, like for example, a antivirus scanning inside the sandbox.
