Is there a way to disable Prevx at start up? I have looked all through my pc with start up programs and looked with AnVir Task Manager but don't see it.

I never tried that but I guess you should be able to stop the service 'CSIScanner'. Btw: with AutoRuns (Sysinternals) you would have found it by searching the tab 'Everything' for term 'prevx'. - But as I said: no warranty for anything I wrote here! :D

This is correct, but is not recommended as it disables core functionality within Prevx which will dramatically reduce its effectiveness.

The services take up only a small amount of memory and barely any CPU but allow Prevx to protect itself from malware, facilitate scanning under limited user accounts, and a number of other functions which are only available from the service being properly installed and started.
