Scroll down this page to where the installers are shown.

    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/

I used the SandboxieInstall64-v5.45.0.exe one. I uninstalled old sbie version first and rebooted. Make sure any leftover folders in C\Program files\sbie are deleted.
You can keep the .ini file when uninstalling if you want. I didn't, as I decided to start from fresh.

:thumb: I believe there was a portable option also?
Just interested, not sure I would use portable in this case.

@paulderdash here is the right link: https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/download/v0.5.0/SandboxieInstall64-v5.45.0.exe
It should update without issues as it does not mess around with different driver binaries like the for windows 7 build.

The "portable" option is the plus build, the installer has an extract option instead of install and the SandMan UI has the appropriate menus to install/uninstall the driver and service.

here is the link for that https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/download/v0.5.0/Sandboxie-Plus-x64-v0.5.0.exe

Thank you David, and stapp, for your help. :thumb:

I am interested in trying the Plus build also then, in portable mode first!

When you unpack it and have the classical version installed it will just connect to the existing installation, than you can try out the new UI.

    Here is what's interesting.

I have three Windows 10 Pro computers. All of them have the same OS Build 19042.662, just made by different companies - ZT, Dell, and HP.
I have the same app and software sets for all those computers.
The only one difference is that on the ZT computer, I'm not logged with an Admin account.
And that one ZT computer allowed me to install the new version of Sandboxie - v.45 without any uninstalling the previous version and/or rebooting the computer. It was just a very easy/smooth installation.
    Go figure.

Great news on the signed version! The install wouldn't complete until I had uninstalled the old version, per usual, but no big deal and no problems with AVG :thumb:

I tried running the program as Admin, but in the end easier to uninstall and reinstall. And of course I checked no programs were running sandboxed.

Hmmm. A question, just to be sure that all is o.k. concerning security:

I just downloaded the 32bit version of "classical" Sandboxie 5.45.0 for Windows 10, that means this file:
    https://github.com/sandboxie-plus/Sandboxie/releases/download/v0.5.0/SandboxieInstall32-v5.45.0.exe

VirusTotal continues to tell me that 15 engines detected this file.

Is this result still to be expected?

Anti malware fools are mostly lazy hacks, for them everything that is not tripely signed front to back and up and down is a potentially malicious application.

I have no idea why it complains about the 32 bit installer but not about eh 64 bit, and why it does not complain about any of the files inside the installer.

@DavidXanatos: David, is there a reason why you don't sign already the installer? I think that would make your great software more trustworthy and also Windows 10 and some browsers would not complain any longer about unknown software.

Yes, whatever I need signed wit the cert I need to send to the guy from that company on whom the cert was issued, only Sining the driver makes things faster and creates less work.
I may do that with future builds though, at least those without the backup driver for windows 7.

Really like the improvements / changes you've made! Just wanted to ask though, any updates on what I had mentioned earlier about having sandboxie work with Nvidia Geforce/Experience and programs running inside it? Additionally, I'm super happy with the immediate file recovery you implemented into the new notifications system, and it works well! Unfortunately, however, it seems like when I'm using the dark theme, text is almost unreadable inside the box. Please see attached. Is there an option I can tweak somewhere to fix this? Thanks again, and keep up the good work!

No I'll have to select alternative highlight colors for the dark theme, will be done in the next build

Thank you so much David for your hard work!
Installed version 5.45.0, frist installation stopped with error. I didn't uninstall old version, just restart windows, then stopped the sandboxie service and started installation again and finished without error. Program also runs without errors.
    Donated again.

@DavidXanatos Does Sandboxie Plus use a driverless approach for sandboxing? I can't see it loading the driver like the classic version does. (No sandboxie .sys file in autoruns)

In upgrading 5.33.6 to 5.45.0 on W10, I kept getting a blue screen when trying to start 5.45, with the error Kernel Security Check Failure. I went through this 5 or 10 times, doing different things with no change, restoring with Macrium after each failure.
I studied the Kernel failure and found it was related to memory in many cases. I did several checks of my memory with no change. I started going through each of my security products and found the problem.
In Windows Defender, Memory integrity in Core isolation must be off for 5.45 to run, at least on my newish HP desktop.
Now that 5.45 is working on my system, all is good and I am very impressed and congratulate DavidXanatos.

FYI, AVG flagged it as an unusual file for checking, but the next day said it was ok,

Congrats David, at least this is an experience that will put a feather in your cap so to speak. You`d think any driver that was certified to run on 10 would run fine on 7, but it`s Microsoft we`re talking about, they do some strange things...
