I'm using a MVPS HOSTS file.
Is there still a need for me to use system immunization tools like SpywareBlaster or Spybot??

Both of those programs do offer users of IE an extra layer of protection in regards to ActiveX\Restricted Site entries, however, you do realize there is a difference in using a Hosts file versus IE Restricted Site protection ?

    No.
Can you explain to me what the difference is?

When used as a Security\Privacy layer of protection, a Hosts file prevents the browser from actually accessing the site.

An IP or URL IE Restricted Site entry is restricted in what HTML code is exeuted. That's assuming an IE user has left the Restricted Zone at High default setting.
