    Hello,

I'm new to this forum. Based on the other threads, I thought you all might be interested in Gliph. Full-disclosure: I helped create it. Here goes:

Gliph uses symbol-based pseudonyms to protect privacy. You can make a connection with someone without sharing your phone number or name or anything other than your Gliph.

Once you connect with another Gliph user, you can send text messages with them. We have apps for iPhone, Android and mobile web. All contact information and messages are encrypted using AES-256 encryption.

Recently, we added something called LockDown privacy protection. This turns off password reset, making all data on the account opaque to everyone except the person with the password on the account.

Our privacy policy puts you in complete ownership of your data. You can delete all data and export your contact information at any time. We provide the text message and contact exchange service for free.

Our business model is to eventually allow individuals to control what companies get access to their data. We will never advertise based on people's conversations or personal information because it is all encrypted.

We are just getting started, but we have gotten an award from the Privacy Community for what we're doing.

I'd be happy to answer questions about the service, why we created it and the security we have built into it so far. We're working hard to add more features.

Without further ado, here are some links to learn more:

If you try it out and don't have a friend to share it with, you can send me a connection request. Here's my Gliph:

    Thanks, caspian!

We announced some big updates to the Gliph today, including a new email privacy service called Cloaked Email. We've created a way to protect the privacy of any email address using any client. It is super handy.

You can read about Cloaked Email here:

If there are any questions about how Gliph or Cloaked Email works, please let me know!

    Cloaked Email Privacy Protection

    Hello,

I have a small update on Gliph's new Cloaked Email service.

I thought y'all might be interested that Gliph was selected this past week as the top app of "13 Underrated Apps You Need To Download Right Now" by Business Insider.

If you haven't tried Cloaked Email yet, here's the article from LifeHacker about it.

If you want a secure texting tool, and a way to hide your real email address from websites, please give Gliph a try. If you have questions about how it is set up or how you can use it, please let me know!

    Secure Picture Messaging

    Hey folks,

Rob from Gliph here. Our team recently added secure picture messaging to our app, allowing you to send rich messages with other Gliph users that are encrypted with AES-256.

This is similar to TigerText, however we give these base messaging options away for free, including a PIN lock for the app.

You can delete Gliph text and picture messages using our previously released real deletion service, meaning either party may permanently delete a normal or picture message at any time.

Since I last posted on Wilders, we also added Chrome and Firefox extensions for our Cloaked Email product. Cloaked Email does not encrypt email, but it does keep your real email address private, allowing you to sign up for services using your normal inbox but without exposing your real email address.

Even after a year, Gliph is still relatively new. However, it is getting more mainstream coverage. Forester analyst Heidi Shey recently mentioned Gliph in a blog post as an emerging solution for consumer security.

As always, I'm happy to take feedback or questions from the security community here at Wilders.

    Rob

I would like to know how secure you belive your service is compared to Wickr for iPhone.

What is your benefits and non benefits?
Is your message securely deleted and inable to be recoverd on phone after deletion?

Are you 100% sure you cannot restore a password once that option is selected, cant it be override?

Basicly how can i trust your service?

    No input on this app?
Any wilders security users that tried it?

    * Found that in android you cannot delete message you have to remove the contact for the messages to be deleted.

    * Also letters like åäö wont work on android when trying to send a messsage it will get an error.

    No one?

I found some troubles when checking what information this app collects.
Im having trouble to deside if i shoudl trust the company or not.

    1. It collects cell tower name why would it need this if not for tracking?
    2. It collects Network name your on. Why?
    3. It collects information if your using wifi or 3g network.

Any input from anyone? Would you trust this app to handle secure messages?

  9. No I don't trust it. If what you mentioned is true , there should be 0 reasons for an app to collect that information.

Im 100% sure what im saying double and triple checked it.

    Will now remove it.
Is there any other android app you would recommend for secure messaging?

I used this app using tor all the way, but i found out one strange thing today also, gliph typed :) itself to one of my contacts, i never do smileys myself and it came right after i typed something to the same contact, then the app crashed, re-opend and said i typed a :)

Even their policy seems strange, saying if you disable the restore password function we cannot see your data, i belive it's very easy for them to enable this if they want to as the option is there.
