Hi all need help with ProcessGuard

During startup for the last couple of days PG is in the system tray but it is not protecting, when I click the icon in the systray to check I only get the MAIN tab. Where the System Status says "Unknown" and ProcessGuard Status says "Recieving Status". The Protection Settings and Global Protection Options are all unchecked and in a lighter contrast (you cannot select any option).

    Extra info
I have PG full version not free version
I have many other security programs running i.e Nod32, MS AntiSpyware Beta, SpywareGuard etc. but they have all coexisting for several months.

    Could you help.

    Hi,

You can make a backup of your configuration before proceeding, copy the files PGUARD.DAT and PGHASH.DAT out of Windows\System32

    I suggest these steps

    1) Uninstall in Safe Mode
    2) Reboot and then install - choose NO do not reboot
    3) Put back your PGUARD.DAT and PGHASH.DAT into Windows\System32
    4) Reboot and check your settings

    Zoe,

Are you running procguard.exe as Admin? If it is not run under an Administrator account (using RunAs if you normally use a limited account) then it will hang as you describe.

Fixing this to allow limited users to access PG would be highly desireable IMHO.

Thanks guys, I uninstalled and reinstalled it again and it seems to be working. I only use the administrator account even when surfing the net only due security programs unable to run under limited accounts.
