    It seems to me that circumstancial evidence suggests that Windows 10 1909 is a bug fix release and that bugs in version 1903 might be responsible for the non-functioning of OSArmor 1.4.3. I hope that, if this is the case, that the previously suggested possibility that Microsoft is neutering such anti-malware software as OSArmor is not actually occuring and that version 1909 is spearheading an improvement in Windows 10 quality and reliability.

    Yes, I have donated to NVT in the past. However, unless one is like the the Red Cross or March of Dimes, meager donation-based revenue streams will not normally motivate a software's creator to regard his app as anything more than a hobby, thus putting it on a short path to becoming abandonware.

    Yes, but the developer opted from the start to make this donation-ware for non-enterprise users. It was his decision. You can look at his home/about the company page, the assets are listed there. Not bad for a one-developer show. :)

    Developer is a nice guy and his armory of programs he has developed is amazing, however, I'm just wondering that with all that he has on his plate if he will be able to keep up with the free programs instead of spending his time on programs that actually put cash in his pocket. Kudos to him for what he has been able to do so far.

    I agree. We need to be patient. A few weeks wait for the next version of OSArmor will be preferable to doing wiithout for the rest of time. To do otherwise is to be biting the technical hand which feeds our need for security. By all accounts, version 1909 will be the bug fix which will likely resolve the problem.

    LOl, that's why I'm planning to never update Win 10, it's not worth it and a recipe for disaster. Just look at how many things all of those Win 10 updates broke the last several years.

    Things that are insignificant to common users?

    As a Windows 10 user, most of this so called breakage seem to be way exaggerated.

    OS Armor is a good product, I hope NVT continues making new versions of it.

    You gotta delay major system updates of windows 10, security updates need to be installed right away.
    Avira Privacy Pal and O&O shutup10 can help with that.

    Same here!
    The complaining is not about "OS Armor", the culprit is "Windows 10" a buggy, and spying OS.
    Love my 7, of-course with harden rules.

    Yes. Windows 10 is running fine for me on 12 computers. It only has issues on another computer, because I've installed and uninstalled hundreds of programs on it.

    Since build 1903 of Windows 10, which runs noticably faster than previous builds, was released, I no longer run Windows 7 on any of my systems.

    Windows 10 runs fast and is very stable, even on some 13 year old laptops. With regards to OS Armor, it obviously needs to be updated to work with current builds of Windows 10. But, it's not because Windows 10 is buggy. For the most part, it is just as stable as Windows 7.

    W10 is superior to W7 (in my mind only), (nothing is perfect), you know that, but the chances it affects your system is less than 1%. 99% of W10 users have no issues ( I just made this figure up, it may or may not be true), the 1% that have issues are the ones complaining on here and I bet 1/2 of them tweak their system which doesn't help. I think Microsoft is actually doing fine, with a billion computers with a billion different software setups I'm amazed any operating system even works at all.

    You are comparing your anecdotal experience to the anecdotal experiences of average users. Since you are running so many computers, you are NOT an average user and likely should not purport to compare your experience to theirs. By the way, 12 computers is an insignificant sample and does not qualify you to speak for Win10 users as a whole. Yes, I know you didn't say you were so qualified, but there is a strong inference, whether unintentional or not.

    Proof?
    Banal. That's just another way of saying that "nothing is perfect."
    Can you cite a reputable source for these amazing statistics, or do you just make them up as you go?

    For the record, I'm planning to switch to Win 10, but I'm planning to never update it. Even security updates are not really worth it, they can also wreck things. For me security tools are way more important than patches and functionality updates. I have the same strategy on Win 8.1, and everything just keeps working just fine.

    :p Quite okay now, thank you. In fact I feel 2.307% better than before.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Whether or not unintentional, the use of words such as "my 12 computers" & "I've installed and uninstalled hundreds of programs" & "the 1% that have issues are the ones complaining on here" & "based on hundred to thousands of machines that came in for service" -- these words are attempts to position their writers as expert witnesses in order to indirectly belittle the comments of posters with whom they disagree.
    Some folks here have posted that patches to Win10 caused problems with OSA and other stuff. I believe them. As to those fomenting debate about Win7 VS Win10 -- that is simply off-topic, plus it borders on A VS B, so why get all prolix & why start waving your credentials around?
    1. OSA 1.43 works fine in w10-1809-64bit. It blocked cscript for me today.
    (probably stupid) Beginner question:
    2. I'm slooowly learning. Question about exclusion I had to make:
    I have an old .bat file which cmd.exe runs. Batch file calls equally ancient .vbs.
    Default exclusion lists as:
    [%PROCESS%: C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe] [%PROCESSCMDLINE%: cscript m:\omysystem\scripts\ListServices7.vbs] [%PARENTPROCESS%: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe]
    What exactly am I now allowing?
    I don't want to globally allow cscript nor cmd. I do want to allow only this specific .vbs file.
    I've upgraded tens of customer's computers from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and not once has a customer reported that they have had any issues, or wanted to go back to Windows 7. These are all people who aren't very good with computers. So if they had issues, they would be contacting me, as they would definitely not be able to fix them themselves. With regards to my own computers running Windows 10. While I'm not an average user, that doesn't really matter, as when I install Windows 10 on a computer, it works fine. I don't have to do any tweaking, or fix anything. In that respect, it's no different to Windows 7.
    LOL! Touche!:argh:
    W7 is W7 and W10 is W10. Users of either OS just want it to work. A bug could be OS side or OSA side, but NVT clearly anticipates the need to update its softs for new build versions and you can see this in their own history of patches/fixes. Beyond that, I for one would have lowered expectations about NVT freewares. They offer great products but businesses run on $$$ and I don't see them continuing to offer the entire current free lineup indefinitely.
