    I am new to this forum and am looking for advice. I just purchased a copy of Aconis Tru Home IMage 2009 and everything seems to be working well except for the notification function. In the email andd pop up section I have entered all the day ... and I know this is correct because when I press the "Send a test email" button, it works fine. I have checked all the boxes to notify me when a failure or backup is done. Except no notifications are ever sent. What am I doing wrong? I loaded the software twice to make sure i did that correctly. Tom G

    Did you enter the info in the "default options" under tools, options, notifications, or you putting them into each schedule manually?
    I find that if you add them as a default instead of in each task it works better. Also, if you have to make any kind of change to your email, like a server name or email address change, delete the schedule taks and recreate them.

    Hello giordanota,

    Thank you for your interesting in Acronis True Image

    1) First of all make sure that you are using the latest build of the program http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/
    2) Try to put e-mail address in brackets e.g. <mymail@mail.com>
    3) Leave password and login fields empty
    4) Make sure that Port is set to 25

    If any firewall, antivirus or other security software is installed on the machine, make sure that the following modules are added to the list of trusted applications in the security software:

    - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeService.exe
    - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageHomeNotify.exe

    Also make sure that your mail server does not require any encryption. Acronis True Image does not support encryption protocols.

    If issue still persists contact Acronis Support and provide them the following information:

    - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
    - Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";
    - Send us the saved file.

    Best regards,

    also, make sure that port 25 traffic is allowed in your security/firewall software.

    Entering the email notification info in Tools instead och in each task made the trick.
    I also enetred brackets <> around the email adress. This is a "bug" in True Image Echo Workstation build 8208.
