    I have spent the last few hours on trying to configure our Eset console to generate an email to support when a threat has been detected on any of our60+ machines.

    I have managed to generate a report by email from the console , however the auto email alerts are not working from the notification manager, when I use the eicar file on any of the client machines.

    Here is a screen shot of the notification manager, and settings;

    Do I need to update anything on the Client Policy for this to work?

    I'm I setting up the notification manager correctly to trigger an email to us when a threat is detected on any of the client machines?

    The smtp settings on the Eset server are correct as I have managed to send a test report.

    We are running exchange 2007, and I understand that relaying needs to be enabled for Eset clients to directly send email alerts to us. I am not willing to enable relaying for our network only servers.

    Please advise settings I need to use to get this to work

    Look at the parameters field. Did an alert occur on > 1000 clients within 60 minutes so that a notification should be sent ?

    Thanks for your reply.

    I will try that out.

    Can you advise if it is possible to configure the clients to send email alerts directly with exchange 2007?

    i have tried creating an AD account, and linked a mailbox, but still not receiving those emails.

    On client workstations, go to Tools -> Alert notifications and configure the SMTP server settings (this can be accomplished via a policy, too). Afterwards, the clients themselves should send out notifications when a threat is detected.

    Hi Marcos - can you tell me if email alert notifications can be sent from ERAS rather than the client machine? Most IT admins lock down workstations so that they cannot send out SMTP traffic (other than to their local Exchange server).
