Nod32/TDS, do I need WG too if...

I recently purchased NOD32 and plan on getting TDS in a few weeks. I was just curious about Worm Guard. Do I really need this kind of protection if I'm aware of double file extensions, hidden file name issues, and if I really don't open any attachments unless they are from friends (and even then I would be scanning them with Nod32/TDS).

What advantages am I missing if I only had Nod32/TDS?

Lastly, I was just browsing other threads and saw a mention of webpages being able to cause some damage. What methods are used for this and how far can it go? No worse than changing your homepage by answering yes? Which reminds me, adaware found some files in the temporary internet files folder (.js files). Are these an example of harmful ones?

Another concern of mine from WG.. It sounds as if it checks any file that is touched. I prefer just right clicking on anything I'm concerned about and scanning it that way. Would this be another reason I can save some money and go without WG?

NOD32 in the first place originally is created for viruses, for which it is a topper, and they cover lots of worms and trojans too since.
I have WG always active in the background and even not touching files they could have code to run automatically, WG blocks standard nasties and suspicious code, blocks nasties from web pages (HTA, among others) to even enter your system to do damage, all kinds of scripts, etc. It's the specialist for worm protection.
TDS is for trojan protection in the first place and has lots of other tools.
It can happen i want to open an email with no attachment showing. If a mailsafe program did do it's job, it will have changed attachments or quarantined them; if i open it, unknowingly of any danger, it is WG blocking and popping up with a warning screen and telling why it is blocked, giving the possibility to look inside the file in the safe mode to investigate (not only because we are curious) what and whom etc.
For me it was various times life saving, even though my system is updated and patched and i try to avoid surfing where i better not should go, etc.
You might like to look at Port Explorer too, which shows ports connections and adds extra options for looking into data packets and everything going on.
Do install from each an evaluation version and look what it does for you. In the threads here is lot of information and impression from other users too.
And you might have seen on the page there is a ActionPack this moment available for all the three mentioned and their upgrades round the corner.
