nLite puts XP PRO in MIDDLE OF PARTITION

I finally got nLite configered with SP2 and to be copied as an ISO and it booted up and worked--mostly. It failed to be an unattended install as I had configured it , but instead was about 50% functional in this mode.

I am still satisfied as I checked for the normal corruptions and none were present (when compared with a TI10 image onto a DVD).

The strange thing was its placement of the 1.91 gigs of XP right in the middle of the partition, as viewed by the defragmentation utility:



This is XP PRO moving a partition via the defragmenter!!! This has only been the second time this has happened to me ( in well over 50 clean installs).

It was an uncorrupted 'copy' (surprising as Disk director 10 often leaves corruption after a "copy partition" operation).

Amazing.

This is normal. NTFS file system does that ...
The NTFS data structure takes 110% (I think) space compared to FAT32. That's why the TrueCrypt hidden system partition requires the hidden partition for XP OS to be 2.something size the data contained ...

NTFS does so many unpredictable things that it is almost like a personality.
